The Ninja is back.

A welterweight battle is set to take place at UFC 125: "Resolution" on Jan. 1, 2011, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, between two rising prospects in Daniel Roberts vs. Greg Soto.

Roberts broke the news of the match up earlier today via Twitter.

"Ninja" started his UFC career with a knockout loss to John Howard before working hard to earn a split decision win against Forrest Petz at UFC 116 in July. Just a few months later at UFC 121, Roberts won a hefty "Submission of the Night" bonus by rolling Mike Guymon with an anaconda choke.

He'll be putting his blue belt level Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills up against a brown belt in Soto.

Soto has been around in MMA since meeting up with UFC lightweight Kurt Pellegrino and training underneath him as a teenager. He's currently 9-1 in his career with the lone blemish coming via disqualification against Matt Riddle at UFC 111 when he was caught throwing an illegal upkick.

It was far from the ideal Octagon debut.

Soto rebounded with a slight upset over Nick Osipczak at UFC 118 and has been given another chance to prove himself against fellow up-and-comer Roberts.

UFC 125: "Resolution" is headlined by a rematch two years in the making between 155-pound champion Frankie Edgar and his personal "Bully," Gray Maynard. The New Year's Day event will also feature a co-main event between WEC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo putting his 145-pound belt on the line against the young but hungry Josh Grispi in the first ever UFC featherweight championship bout.

Also set for the card is an exciting lightweight fight that should be a war between the energetic Clay Guida and "The Fireball Kid" Takanori Gomi. Set to throw leather in the welterweight division is Nate Diaz and Dong Hyun Kim, while Chris Leben will look to continue his rise through the ranks of the middleweight division as he takes on former U.S. Marine Brian Stann.
