IFL veteran Ian Loveland will step up on short notice for "Bad Boy" and tangle with former WEC featherweight fighter Tyler Toner on the Spike TV special next Saturday night.
The bout's status on the main card is unknown at this time.
Before making his World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) debut, Toner only had one loss and that was to the current number one contender for the bantamweight title, Scott Jorgensen. "Thunder" finished Brandon Visher by TKO in his WEC debut back in April.
Toner's next outing wasn't so hot as he was neutralized by Diego Nunes and suffered a unanimous decision loss. Toner would like to erase the thought of that defeat with a win in his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut. To do that, he needs to get past "The Barn Owl."
Loveland made his debut in the now defunct International Fight League (IFL) in February 2007. It was a debut he'd like to forget as he suffered a submission loss courtesy of Wagnney Fabiano's arm triangle choke. Despite going 1-2 in the IFL, Loveland makes his debut in the Octagon on a six fight-winning streak. He'll look to improve that streak to seven on Dec. 4.
TUF 12 Finale will feature the lightweight finalists vying to earn a contract with the UFC. Also on the card, TUF season one finalist Stephan Bonnar faces Igor Pokrajac. Submission specialist Demian Maia takes on TUF season three winner Kendall Grove. Plus, unbeaten middleweight Johny Hendricks battles Rick Story.
