UFC 123: Michigan Bureau of Commercial Services investigating timekeeping error in 'Falcao vs Harris' bout

Maiquel Falcao's lackluster performance in the third round of his UFC 123 debut against Gerald Harris wasn't the only controversy brewing Saturday night (Nov. 20) at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan.

Cagewriter.com discovered an apparent error in the timekeeping for the first round with an early seven-second stoppage while Falcao had a rear naked choke on Harris.

The Director of Legal Affairs for the Michigan Bureau of Commercial Services, Stephen Gobbo, told MMA Weekly that he acknowledges the error and it is under investigation.

No word yet on a timeline for his review.

After two rounds of what seemed like a brilliant debut for the Chute Boxe fighter, "Big Rig" was inactive for most of the third round much to the chagrin of the crowd watching in Auburn Hills and UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Goncalves eventually won by way of unanimous decision.
