Karo Parisyan has been cut from the UFC following his first round technical knockout loss to Dennis Hallman last night. "The Heat" has been plagued by several mental health issues, which have contributed to his recent poor performances. Photo courtesy of the talented Esther Lin.

Good riddance to bad rubbish

That idiot should have never gotten another chance in the UFC.

Has he ever not protested a stoppage?

What a clown.

It's Karo, bro

He protests anything that doesn’t go his way.

It was annoying

Hallman trying to be gracious and shake his hand but Karo was just screaming “NO”. What a douche.

That being said Hallman is a born again beast. I was gutted to see him get KO’d by Howard especially since he was 10 seconds away from winning but he has got on with it since and is putting a streak together now

i think thats the reason why screamed it

Knowing that this was his last chance.

I blame shithead ref - Josh Rosenthal.

He was the one that stood them up for no fucking reason with 10 seconds left and Howard hailmary kill shot’s him. Definitely not a good ref at all….but people are on his nuts because he didn’t stop Carwin in the brock fight.

Not shocked

Karo looked awful out there. I knew bringing him back so soon. Dana should’ve held off for at least a year.

gotta agree

glad to see him gone. should never have been given a chance imo.

that really is how he always looks

i dont think he looked extra pudgy at all in this fight than he usually does

by AzCombat on Nov 21, 2010 5:35 PM EST up reply actions

But that's my point, he looked doughy on Prom Night

Karo knew this was it for him, he supposedly bothered the shit out of BLAF to get back on a card and when he does he looks like some nobody. How average did he look in the most important fight he’s ever going to have? He doesn’t look like he visibly got healthy and in shape for this match, even though he has been desperate it for it. I was just saying, how is he going to come into this and look like that and perform like that? It just seems like he is faded and if he is trying to fight off of natural ability(talent) or whatever excuse these doughy bodied guys have for why they don’t put in the hours at the gym to compliment whatever technical sparring they are working on. I can’t see him ever putting together a solid package as an opponent. His judo is good but it’s not endgame stuff anymore because the MMA food chain is constantly evolving and he as a fighter needs to do that as well. To me an evolved Karo Parisyan is someone who looks like he put in work to get back. Instead all that showed up was the same old dramatic pudgy outdated and ultimately outclassed Karo. I really think he should corner guys and teach judo but I don’t see him competing in MMA in 5 years not with the way his head is and the way he seems to never be able to improve his physical conditioning.

Horrible Stoppage

I haven’t seen the fight, but if the GIF is an accurate indication, the Carwin/Lesnar fight should’ve been stopped 15 seconds in. Karo just looks like he’s covering up, but he doesn’t look like he’s out. And Karo isn’t a scrub. You don’t need to save him there…. but what can you say… Dan strikes again.

Agreed, I wouldn't joke about something like that because it very well could happen

I hope the UFC provides Karo with some counselling because I fear his reaction to this loss.

yea he does seem like a douche at times

but that stuff doesnt bother me too much, cause if i looked at all my fav fighteres personality’s i probably wouldnt like as many fighters as i do..

Plus in some of interviews he comes off as a good dude that has a lot of problems.

Its a shame to see Karo go.
Most people forget that he was once a number contender if not for the unfortunate injury he had prior to the title shot.
The injury absolutely hurt his chances, yet despite it he manage to keep up with the other WW.
Karo is an exciting fighter, and always comes to fight.
He was very competative with GSP. Rolled with the best with Diego, Serra & Diaz.. was a favorite & was winning the fight w/ Alves prior to the knee. Displayed some masterful throws & introduced jodu to many MMA fans.
He is the most successful Jodukan in MMA.
And in all honesty, the stoppage yesterday was really prematured.
Dan is a terrible referee.
He’s issues aside from being pyschological, has alot to do with his leg injury he sustained.
Please give respect to Mr. Parisyan.

True

It’s just that you hate to see someone who’s so talented pissed it all away with painkillers/depression. Karo really should not have been in that cage last night. He has the skills, no disagreement there. However, he just doesn’t seem like the guy that put on a ton of wars in his past fights. Now? Karo seems like a shell… just going through the motions. Until he can show that he’s mentally right and has kicked any addiction to painkillers, he shouldn’t be fighting. Coaching? Sure. I think Karo would make an excellent coach, but right now, he cannot fight.

DAN IS A HORRIBLE, WORST REF IN THE PROFESSION

Definitely Premature stoppage, other than that, pudgy Karo needs to cut to 155lbs.

He was just covering up

Dan’s an awful referee with no consistency in his stoppages but he was in the right this time, Karo wasn’t defending himself and he wasn’t going to get up. Why let a guy who is battling serious demons take unnecessary punishment? The fight was stopped for Karo’s own good.

Big Dan M. just a total airhead..

He will never be a good ref, ever! That was a horrible stoppage…. someone should cement dan’s feet and drop him in a deep lake.

It's funny how Hallman beat Hughes 2 times.

then went down under for many years and now is back and quite possibly doing better than Hughes who was the long-time champ.

The guy was pretty good at one time

but now he’s obviously got a lot of problems. Gets a 2nd chance by the UFC in which I’d bet money how he was telling Dana and Joe Silva that he was a changed man and ready to fight and then shows up looking like one of the fat HW’s and has an bad performance. Way to reward the UFC for the opportunity, Karo! The dude’s a fraud.
