Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will fight 'whoever is put in front of him'

Props: ESPN.com
Quoteworthy:
"He's good. He's a great guy, so he's always in good spirits. It's pretty hard to get that guy bummed out. The knee: He is rehabbing it right now in Brazil. He's not training, just rehabbing the knee. I'd like to see him come back when he feels 100 percent. I am assuming it will be sometime in late spring, early summer. I think [Nogueira-Mir II] is a great fight. Does he want to even the score? Absolutely! Is it a motivating factor? Definitely! Big Nog is a warrior. He's never chosen an opponent. Whoever you put in front of him, he will fight."
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's manager Ed Soares gives us an indication as to when the embattled heavyweight will return to the famed Octagon. He also has a suggestion, like usual, for a return opponent -- Frank Mir. The two were set for a rematch of their UFC 92 fight at UFC 119 before "Big Nog" was forced into exile with knee issues. Now that he's gone under the knife and rehab is on schedule, it's time to start thinking about where he stands in the UFC heavyweight division. Is the former PRIDE Champion still a top contender? Or are his best days behind him? Who do you want to see him matched up with when he comes back? Let's hear it, Maniacs.

Liddell
Tito
Shamerock
Coleman
NOG
Pulver
These guys and the like (there are more) are some of the absolute GOATs, no doubt. Their time has come and gone, and retirement is all that is left. They are done.
Hughes
Penn
Wand
Franklin
Hendo (more than likely)
Couture
These guys (and the like) are on retirement tours, savering their last years in the sport. They too are some of the GOATs, but will be knocking on retirement’s doorstep within 2-3 years.

Absurd!
Randy is on a 3 fight win streak and his only losses in the last 4 years were to a 290 lb rhinoceros and the second greatest HW of all time….and those were still very competitive fights. I’d still give Randy 50/50 odds against Rashad or Rampage, better than that against Forrest or Franklin, at a 30% chance against Machida. Randy’s still a solid TOP 10. Same for Hughes.
Wand has lost his chin and has a fighting style that heavily relies on it. He’ll never be a TOP 3 again, but he’s still a very solid and dangerous fighter and MW is a very shallow division. Other than Silva & Sonnen (and maybe Belfort) anybody in that division who has to face Wandy has a very tough night ahead of them. Nobody’s considering him a “gimme” fight. And with Sonnen’s future in question, one more good win over a Marquardt or a Maia could put Wandy in line for a title shot…especially if Belfort pulls off a miracle….cause it would be great marketing for the UFC to sell the Vitor/Wandy rematch.
"Who's da MASTA?!!!"
ita all about opinion Shonuff...
Randy looked terrible against Vera and got knocked out in the standup by a man who runs away from punches! Wand is an all time great < i have all of his fights but its over…the Pride Wandy would have eaten Bisping alive and Franklin, and you know what a prime wandy did to Jackson 2x"s…
Give him his rematch ,
He deserves it .., and i want to see it
Win, lose or draw
How can you not support Big Nog? The guy would fight ANYONE that they put in front of him. Big Nog is a true warrior and you’ve got to admire that. Is his career nearing an end? Sadly, yes, but damn… the guy’s given us some fights to remember.
If Nog can beat his next opponent who ever it is he should retire you dont want to go out like Crocop its just sad
Nog of course is even worse then Crocop now his ability to take punishment is about gone his movement is nothing short of a turtle makes me feel bad even thinking about it.
If you dont like drugs then dont do them.....give them to me!
Nog vs. Lesnar will look like sapp vs. Big nog from back in th day!

Who cares what this kid has done in pride.
End of the day, its me who has to buy and watch this old man on my PPV’s. This kid destroys every card he’s on now..
I’m not buying the dude from Pride, I’m buying the dude my grandad would put a beating on.. Get rid of him or give him someone like Brock, because if he doesn’t retire himself, brock will have to do it for him.
Been a fan of Cain Velasquez and Mauricio Rua from day 1.
Been watching MMA from day 1.

Big Nog vs Cro Cop
they both can retire and go off into the sunset after that fight. No matter who wins. It’s sad seeing the legends not able to compete at the top anymore. It’s just weird cuz mma is so young and we haven’t seen alot of the greats go through this shit like in boxing.
Very well put but i am of the opposite when it comes to that fight.
I think the show they would put on now might look like a sham and end up tarnishing their legendary match up at final conflict.
