I think I was like a lot of the newer guys that found BE ifrst, but found a home here. Suprised soemone went the other way.

I made the switch when BE went to SB Nation and Mania was still on its old format, I just found the layout better over there at the time and got accustomed to the community.

yeah, the judo chops are the best, my sig has more to do with Brazilian politics and how some people are viewing our new President Elect, I didn’t intend it to be mean anything inside MMA or MMA blogs, but I can see how it fits in regards to BE.
Again, it’s true about BE having strict rules, but I kind of enjoy that too, and I enjoy Mania too. Sometimes I want to listen to soft rock and sometimes I want to listen to heavy metal, I’ll never listen to house music though (that’s Sherdog hehe).

Lets take women for example. They are weaker then men for the most part. So does that mean a man can go around physically intimidating them and they should say yes sir or no sir or face getting an ass beating? I am not an internet warrior, I just stick up for myself. and all I was saying was that I respect Wand, so my personal answer would be yes or no sir. Not that I should just bow down because they can kick my ass. I own a gun. It is stronger than any overhand right. I am a Silva nuthugger. He is why I like the sport as much as I do, or at least a big part of it. They both have a certain style and I think Belfort is a powerful straight puncher. Wandy is a lopping puncher. He plays in to Belfort’s style for sure. Im not basing it off their last fight

I'm a big fan of both guys but a bigger fan of Wandy.

she isn't a socialist
though she used to be, but she does have a lot of social programs in place in the current administration (to which she’s a part of), and 86% of the country approves the current administration (which is a record for us).
She’d probably not do very well in American politics though, since you guys as a whole are afraid of the word “socialist” or “social projects” :p

I just finished reading an article about her time as Minister of Energy. The strides she made in your shipping industry based upon nationalization of infrastructure is incredible. From unknown in the shipping industry to 6th world wide? WOW.
We, as Americans, have been programed to believe that business, not government, should be allowed free reign to determine the course of capitalism. And that any nationalization of programs or workers is evil. I read articles like the one previously mentioned and how her work brought 40,000 jobs to Brasil based upon a decision to not outsource labor and raw materials, and I question the relevancy of wht I have been taught.

I think capitalism is the only true system for a nation to stay relevant and developed
but IMO it cannot become true capitalism, the government has to step in to balance the equation from time to time with social projects. I was going to talk about health care and banks but I’m afraid that would bring up a debate to which I’m not really trying to get into given your current administration and how people few about it, but in the end I think you guys would profit with a few social projects yourselves.

we could profit from removing many of those lubed up social programs as well. The problem here is that everyone feels entitled to a free lunch. Not everyone is in the same situation, not everyone has made the same choices, yet everyone feels entitled to receive the same (or more) benefits. If you are on your 5th child, and was on welfare on your 2nd, that is a problem.

but that should always only be a few. I think for the most part, it will help most people get out of a bad situation in life and help them grow to where they’d no longer need welfare (and having people on welfare ultimately helps the economy than hurts it). People in general don’t want to stay poor, if they get the chance of getting a good paying job they’ll get out of welfare. Someone with 5 kids is definitely a problem (even if the person isn’t on welfare), but wouldn’t you say most people in welfare don’t have 5 kids and that those that do are a few in a bunch?
The government obviously has to be neutral to individuals otherwise they’d be discriminating, so someone with 5 kids cannot be turned down just like someone with one kid and so on…
Wouldn’t you also say that someone with 5 kids and on welfare is the product of how society has failed that person? May that be with education and/or opportunities? I’m rambling here, but you get the point :p

I am of the opinion that society can provide you with plenty of opportunities and you can still make stupid choices, oftentimes because you know you will be bailed out.
And sadly, I personally know people who could be working, but aren’t, because they get enough from unemployment and welfare to make ends meet.

but then the problem lies in the amount of money they get, if people get enough money from the government to not want to work then the system becomes useless. People should not get enough money to not want to work, they should get a very small amount to get by. they shouldn’t get comfortable.

but that isn’t always the case. When I am working 50-60 hours a week, and you are not and you are the one trying to get me to go to the bar and I am saying “no, I can’t afford it”, there is definitely a problem.

Social projects that develop industries and creat jobs are worthwhile
Social projects that allow people to sit on their ass and live off of my granddaughters tax dollars, today, are wrong.
Health care is not a right. It is an expense like any other expense and should be treated as such, but “institutes” like the American Medical Association put caps on the number of doctors admitted into Medical School and the belief by most doctors (who are generally piss poor businessmen) that they deserve a few hundred thousand dollars a year, create a system that is flawed. Add on top of that the drug companies marketing to make most seniors believe that they need to be medicated, the perks the drug companies give doctors to prescribe certain medications, and insurance companies limiting the cash they will pay, and you have a system that is totally corrupt.
Not getting into banks as I would probably be here for hours…
