I doubt it but you never know. He’s still a highly ranked fighter, 4th on the consensus rankings.

If he doesn't make weight the UFC will move him up and if he doesn't want to they will cut him
Dana thinks like Sanchez , Alves would be a better condition to fight becausee the weight loss takes a toll. If he doesn’t make weight again he must move up or get out. I hope he makes it Alves is one my few non wrestling based fauvorites right behind Wandy but him not making weight is BS.
As it turns out StrikerDave was right all along and I was horribly wrong, and now I am crying like a little schoolgirl. After all my loudmouthing Brock Lesnar has no chin, no striking, no practical wrestling, no TDD, no heart, and no valid excuse for being this terrible, I just was too blind/stupid to see it.

I come down on the same side as Dana on the weight issue. When you are a professional there is no excuse to come in overweight. If you absolutely can not cut down to 170 then it’s time to move up. Which he probably needs to do anyway. He’s lost to the champion and the number 2 in the world. I don’t see him improving enough to beat either one of those guys anytime in the near future.

I think he should move up
He will have a size disadvantage at MW but there are a lot more better fights for him there. More strikers and less wrestlers is a good thing for alves even though he has had success against wrestlers before.

I hate that. Don’t act like you were partying the day before the fight. Next he’ll be saying they were partying while cutting weight. STFU
I can’t stand this kid. Months on end to train and make weight and he can’t. He doesn’t even need to cut much.. Honestly, man up.
