P4P Silly convo, but I'm bored!!!

As some of you know, I had back surgery 3 weeks ago.  So, Kevin gave me the opportunity to write a piece for his site to help pass the time.  This is just a few lines of each paragraph, so for the full story please go to mondaymorningblackbelt.com.  I'm sorry, but I don't know how to link a site.  I found out last night that I need another surgery, so there may be more of this to come.  I know that P4P is subjective and a bit silly, but like the title states, I am bored!   Kevin, thank you so much for letting me do this!

I’m going to go through Zuffa’s Champs because the UFC and WEC are where the best are at.  First off, let me just get rid of Fedor being in this conversation because at this moment he isn’t at the top of this list.  The first Fedor fight I have ever seen was against Lindland........

The 145 division is lead by an amazing fighter in Aldo.  He finishes fights in devastating fashion and is exciting to watch.  It’s a bit too soon to crown him at the top of the list, but he is definitely one to look out for.........

I’m going to jump all the way up to 205, Shogun Rua!  I am a huge fan and can’t see anyone not liking him.  Always exciting fights (when healthy) and is good anywhere the fight goes.  He is a class act inside and outside the octagon.  Even though he took the belt by KO Machida, it’s also just too soon for him to be mentioned.  He has done unbelievable things in Pride, but with his knees being all jacked up, I can’t see him getting to the top of this list.........

Next up is the heavyweight division where we just had a changing of the guard.  As most of you know, I’m a Brock hater, but it would have been hard not to include him, so thank you Cain!  Cain is a beast and I see him holding that belt for some time.  With cardio of a 155er and great wrestling he will be a tough task for anyone........

At 170 I give GSP the number 2 position.  I have this opinion for many reasons.  A lot of his fights go to a decision, he never moves up in weight and he lost not too long ago to Matt Serra.  I watched that fight again the other day and saw that it wasn’t a “lucky punch.”  Serra beat him on the feet and tagged him several times.  An important criteria for me to be the number one P4P fighter is finishing fights.  When you go to a decision you leave it in the hands of the judges and we know how that sometimes goes.  When you finish a fight you actually won the fight and leave no doubt in anyones eyes.  Now, I know GSP leaves no doubt because he dominates, but I want to see finishes.  GSP couldn’t finish Hardy in five rounds and Condit just did it in one.  That tells me a lot.  I believe GSP could finish more, but is afraid to lose so he takes them all down now.  I don’t blame him because a win is a win, but it’s just not exciting to me.........

Anderson Silva!!!  He has all kinds of records and has never lost in the UFC.  His striking is the best in MMA with great jj to follow.  His wrestling isn’t that good, but when he just fought the best wrestler at 185, he subbed him.  Oh and that was a juiced up Sonnen.  Anderson finishes most of his fights and when he moves up he has finished all of them.  He even made the former 205 Champ look like an armature.  I’m not impressed at all about Forrest, but it was something great to watch.......

I know a lot of people have their own lists and don’t agree with this.  I have never written about MMA and just thought that this would be fun.  It gave me something to do while I’m not able to leave this damn couch.  It was just for fun so guys don’t take this personal.  I know that some GSP fans are going to be offended, that wasn’t my intent, OK Jay and Mac?  lol   This is always a good debate, so lets have at it guys and thanks for reading this.........
