Vitor Belfort: 'Wanderlei Silva has a big mouth'
Props: Tatame.com
Quoteworthy:
Anderson is very versatile so you can’t have one settled game plan. The important thing is to be prepared for anything because he’s a great fighter. You can get there thinking things will go one way, but it can suddenly change. I know he’s the best in the world, but I can get intimidated by it. I don’t think anything (about Wanderlei Silva's comments), he’s a spectator and he can think whatever he wants to. If you have a mouth, you can say whatever you want and Wanderlei has a big mouth. But it’s about cheering, everyone can cheer for their favorite, and the important is to be respectful and know how to choose the right words. In February I’ll have my chance for the belt and let’s see how it’ll be.
Is there a Brazilian beef brewing between Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva? Apparently "The Phenom" doesn't like "The Axe Murderers" comments that he'll be "freaked out" by "The Spider" at UFC 126 on February 5. Will the Silva double-team rattle Belfort mentally on fight night? Or is he destined to do what no other UFC middleweight has done when he fights for the title over the Superbowl weekend?

If I were Wandy I would still have nightmares about fighting Vitor

I would rather have Wand's record than Vitor's record KO.

You could almost say the same about Wandy

You cannot possibly be comparing Wand and Vitor's accomplishments. Wand is a legend and HOF'er. All you can say about Vitor is that he never reached his full potential...at least up until now. Hold on to that KO tightly.

Who is comparing their accomplishments?
I was just saying if I were Wand I wouldn’t want it with the toe sucker. Wand is a HoF I don’ think anyone can debate that.

engagechad was implying Vitor was somehow better - unless I read it wrong.

Naw I wasn’t saying that, I was just responding to your comment about Wand’s record. Trust me I know that he’s got some wicked names he’s torn up, but he’s lost 5 of his last 7 and Veet has won 6 of his last 7. So as far as records go (recent records that is) Vitor has a bit more attractive resume when looking at eligibility to be worth of a title fight.
Good point

but if you look a little deeper into it.
you’ll see Vitor’s losses coming to strong american wrestlers. Wand’s career record might have looked different if he had fought more of those type of styles. I always had a theory that Pride never wanted any part of Wand vs Vitor because they were afraid that Vitor would knock him out.
yeah, I would say Wand is as punch-retarded as Liddel if not more from his intense sparring. Might be compassionate for UFC to realese him the way they did Chuck.

Liddell has been KO'd 3 fights in a row
Wand has gone the distance twice since his loss to Page and came out with a win in his last fight. There’s no comparison.

Well, the Page loss was only three fights ago, and Bisbing's feather dusters arent much to go by
Dont get me wrong, Wand is one of my Fav’s, I just wonder how much his brain can really take. If anything, Wands better chin has allowed him to take more damage then Liddel.

That is an excellent point - I just happen to put more stock in quality of opponent. Wand has lost to monsters in their prime. Vitor only "quality" win is over Ace. No comparison in their opponents overall, though.

Randy?
And a lot of his old wins were solid at the time

Vitor beat Randy from a cut caused by loose thread from his glove catching Randy in the eye when Vitor missed a punch
He got dominated in the other 2 fights that the 2 had. Vitor is a very good fighter and looked unstoppable in his youth but he’s always had problems dealing with better wrestlers and with adversity. It remains to be seen whether he can still perform well when things don’t immediately go his way or whether he still chokes.

i still remember that fight.
Utah and Boise State: The two best teams in the nation. Both undefeated and with a combined 12-2 against the spread. J.J. my puta and my personal dartboard. Brock Lesnar the most over-rated MMA fighter there is. Even more over-rated than Kimbo Slice.

Interestingly enough...
After this fight.. Wandy’s stock went up.. way up and Vitors went down. The vintage Pride FC Wandy would not go down in a fight with Vitor in this way. Wandy vs Vitor part duce?
It depends
if Wand can look good and get some more decent Ws or Vitor will need a couple losses. Right now Vitor is way above Wand in the rankings.

WHy?
He hasn’t had a fight at MW except Lindland and Terry Martin recently.

Hi weight cut seems tough for him especially with the lay off now it seems it would be hard.
He has no wins over top guys as of late, unless you think the Brit was a big win for Wand.

At least he has a fight at MW
I’m fine with Vitor getting the shot but only because I wanna see that fight I don’t think he earned it.

I wouldn't hold my breath, Andy is getting older and someone is gonna get him sooner rather than later.
But I think Vitor’s style plays right into silva

Well well...
Akiyama, Leben, Bisping…will Wand soon have yet another fighter in Vitor calling him out for a fight? Apparently he’s gotten under Vitor’s skin there a little.
All i can say is that Vitor Belfort has one hell of a chin.
Ill never forget when he took a shin flush to the face against Herring back in rpide… ddint even buckle him. And imo, he ate the hook form Liddell pretty well back in UFC 37.5 even tho he got knocked down. Plus the the full blown left straight he took from Zikic during their fight didnt even knock him down (although Vitor was extremely out of shape during that fight).
Win/Win for the fans, can't see any possibility of that being a boring fight.
But probably wouldn’t happen anytime soon if at all.

Yeah O damn I think you're right
It would be a fun fight to see but I doubt we will see it. The only possible way is if Vitor loses and Wanderlei wins in their next fights. That is possible for sure, but for a Vitor nuthugger like myself I doubt it will happen since Im calling him beating Silva.

Shut the fuck up Vitor. Wand knows what he is talking about
Can’t wait for Andy to cave this guy’s face in. Andy TKO second round.
Another loss to kg12, the original conductor of The Cain Train. Velasquez > Lesnar = UFC HW Champ. Brocktober is over, forever.
