Yeah I think it will be a great battle.

With HW’s and the power these guys have it could be faster, one mistake and it could be over like that and thats what makes the HW division so exciting. But as long as neither gets to reckless I see this going around 3 rounds. Of coarse I’m a Brock fan so I might say different when debating with some yahoo’s but I think this is a great test for both fighters and a fairly even HW title fight with two of the best HW’s in the world, what more can a fan ask for?

He should have to fight jds or mir or carwin. Cause all 3 of them would beat Nog and Ben Rothwell. Mir has already beat kongo and nog!!!? why not fight mir?

He should have to fight jds or mir or carwin. Cause all 3 of them would beat Nog and Ben Rothwell. Mir has already beat kongo and nog!!!?

why not fight mir?

yes i rather have lesnar sit around than just throw out title shots to random people.

by Weedsuplement on Oct 18, 2010 2:30 PM EDT up reply actions

Cain is 8-0 with recent wins over a former world champion and a former IFL champion. He’s earned it. JDS has earned the right to face Lesnar after Lesnar disposes of Cain. After that things are up in the air a bit. But having two very worthwhile and seemingly competitive HW title fights coming in beats the hell out of Lesnar sitting on the sidelines for another year while your little elimination tournament plays out.

Our lives change like the weather, but a legend never dies.

I didn’t comment because I agree with your point, but your method of delivery needs some work, kid. Why would you start the comment by insulting someone when you were not involved in the first place? You should have expected to get ganged up on since nobody has any idea who the fuck you are.

by Weedsuplement on Oct 18, 2010 2:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Here is my MMA relevant post for you newbie...

Cain is fighting Brock because DW is not going to waste a contender in the heavyweight division, for which he has NEVER had 4 legitimate contenders at the same time, by having them fight for anything other than the belt. Brock is by far, the largest generator of UFC PPV numbers, so it only makes sense from a business perspective, to have Carwin fight Brock, while Cain and JDS get fights that will keep them from defeat, but will appear to be solid match-ups against guys they should undoubtedly beat. It worked, so now we have Cain versus Brock, JDS in the wings.

Regardless of whether you believe that Cain should fight someone else first, it is a horrible business decision to have any of these guys fight anyone but the champion, or guys they should beat. Not only can you make the general buying public believe that all 4 are truly contenders, but you maximize your profitability because none of them will beat Brock and he brings the best PPV numbers.

See, I agree with you, but understand how to actually string together a couple of coherent thoughts without getting my panties in a bundle.

Douchebag.

by Ulf Murphy on Oct 18, 2010 3:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Agreed

UFC seems like it’s becoming “Sports Entertainment” and Dana wants the $$$ to go with it. Now is JDS waiting in the wings or did I hear something about Big Roy getting a #1 contenders match?

Bruce Leroy? Hopefully someone will knock him the @%$# out and say "Shogun is the master!" Shonuff!

by worth2cents on Oct 18, 2010 3:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah if BC can somehow beat Carwin he might be the #1 contender after JDS

But that will be highly unlikely, he did well against JDS though so with a win over Carwin(I don’t see that happening he would deserve a shot). And as far as the UFC becoming sports entertainment thats what it is suppose to be you make it sound like a bad thing but thats what made Pride great it was entertaining MMA it just happens to be a sport too now. Not that it wasn’t back in the early UFC and Pride days but there are very little freak fights or fights or lopsided fights now.

It just seems that they go for a higher money draw than to match up the best fighters. But that’s business I guess and that’s what makes fans come back for more.

by worth2cents on Oct 18, 2010 3:24 PM EDT up reply actions

In this case they are doing the right thing

Cain is argueably the best contender only other guy is JDS who will get the next shot, with Brock being out a year before he fought Carwin it didn’t makes sense to have him wait for the winner of Cain and JDS when he can fight them in a row and if those two fought first and he fought someone else everyone would be complaining.

You're so stupid that it hurts.

Do you not remember how Lesnar got his title shot? He was 2-1 and on a whopping one fight win streak in the UFC against a guy who was .500.
Let’s see what you have to say when Cain humiliates Lesnar. “yes i rather have lesnar sit around than just throw out title shots to random people” … give me a fucking break, you clown.

zeke at the time the next best in line that was able to fight

Was herring, that was how weak the division was. AA and Sylvia both left the UFC. There might of been one or two other guys that were able to fight with NOG and Mir set to fight already Brock was one of the best choices at the time and regardless of your opinion proved he deserved the shot by simply winning the title fight.

"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth - Mike Tyson

by Puck Head on Oct 18, 2010 5:04 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not saying that Lesnar was undeserving.

Although Werdum was no doubt the more suitable from a strictly objective perspective (beating Gonazaga and Vera was big at the time), all I’m doing here is pointing out the irony in somebody saying that Lesnar should sit around and wait rather than, you know, face somebody who’s 8-0 and 6-0 in the UFC with wins over Kongo, Rothwell, and Nogueira. You see… Cain doesn’t deserve to face Lesnar. He hasn’t earned it yet.

What an idiot.

by zeke21 on Oct 18, 2010 6:19 PM EDT up reply actions

BTW

I don’t think Lesnar earned it.
Cain beat a bunch of cans.
Brad Moris=Cut,
Jake O’brien=cut,
Denis Stojnić=cut,
Kong=Mid tier,
Ben Rothwell= couldn’t jog a mile,
Nog= good.
So he beat Nog, like i said Frank Mir beat Nog&Kongo, if there was logic behind ufc match making Cain should fight Mir atleast before he get a title shot.

AJ got Luigi with taps to strikes, but that was it. And yeah it was a tko, but it was a retarded stoppage. everyone, including Cain and Denis, thought that the ref was just standing the fight back up. there was a bit of confusion as to why the ref was waving his arms, and then realization sunk in. it was dumb.
