Brock will close the distance on Brown Stain and then manhandle and bully him all over the cage. He’ll put BS against the cage and beat him down.

There was no “special treatment”. Brock was intelligently defending himself. That was some of the best reffing you’ll ever see in mma. It wasn’t rosenthals fault carwin lost. It was his own fault. He got excited and impatient and gassed himself out simple as that

Not a great ground game. Velasquez or Lesnar are both more well-rounded than he. And Brocks hits as hard if not harder.

I just think JDS has the athleticism to avoid the takedown. Maybe not stuff it but stay away from it long enough to keep it standing and I don’t think Brock is gonna have is striking up to par with JDS. I hope brock wins and I think he can. This

Junior needs to do what Shane did and catch him with an uppercut coming in. Then he should get up, focus on the td (cause we all know its coming) sprawl, and nail Brock in the temples. If that doesn’t do it, stand up, and repeat.

Educated opinion also takes into account what a fighter does

JDS main focus is in the stand up as he also had talked about going pro boxing. Sure he has a JJ back ground but he has done nothing to prove he can be elite with the elite MMA grapplers. Yes there is a chance his grappling is great but highly unlikely he would have much a chance against the elite on the ground the question will be like every fight who dictates were the fight takes place and I have a hard time seeing JDS dictating were the fight takes place against someone like Brock. It will be tough for him to come in against one of the most effective ground grapplers like Brock and do well when he has never been tested against someone near Brock calibure. But a educated opinion would have to side with Brock by proof were JDS all we have is questions.

We had also never seen Carwin fight in the second round until his last fight.

This is not to say that JDS’ ground game = Carwin’s cardio, but until we see it in a fight it will remain unproven.

by Big-dawg on Oct 18, 2010 10:15 AM EDT up reply actions

Thats the question we know he will be good on the ground the question will he be good enough?

I think the advanatages Brock would have on the ground would be as big an advanatage as JDS would have standing the big question that fight will be how hard or easy will it be for Brock to get the fight to the ground that will determine the outcome of that fight but no doubt JDS will have the standing advantage and the fight does start standing.

I'm not so sure about that

We haven’t really seen JDS fight any high level wrestlers yet. Guys like Cain, Shane or Brock could give him a ton of trouble with that. I would imagine that Brock would be the toughest test for JDS. He is big like Carwin but I would imagine that his speed is more similar to Cains. His stand up isn’t good, but who are we really going to expect to beat JDS in the stand up? I would say maybe Overeem or Kongo. But Kongo is like 35 now. He can’t rely on his stand up forever.

by RyanHobbs on Oct 18, 2010 3:34 AM EDT up reply actions

Kongo got outstruck by Travis Browne and Frank Mir

His striking is way overrated, he wouldn’t pose a single threat to JDS (unless short pulling and knees to the balls count). Overreem would be a threat though it’s hard to judge how good Alistair is because he never fights other top guys in MMA and when he was consistently fighting the best in Pride he struggled against the better competition. His kickboxing is very good but the weaknesses that cost Alistair fights in Pride (his chin and his cardio) may still apply, we just don’t know because he hasn’t been tested in MMA in years.

If old man randy couture got back to his feet, Cain can

Yeah because Cain is a better grappler than randy? No I don’t think so not to mention Brock’s experience from then to now. The old man Randy is a bunch of BS Randy is still one of todays best MMA grapplers and for HW standards he is right around the same size as Fedor who has also got out of grapple’s from bigger men. What you guys don’t understand is size is not everything it helps but going against veterans who have been in every position is not comparable to Cain who has yet to be on his back and Brock is a better wrestler than Cain. Is he a better MMA grappler too? I think so but we will find out next weekend.

As far as Cain wrecking Randy right now? Because he took a wild swing and connected against NOG doesn’t mean the same would happen with Randy andI would bet randy would at least put up a 2 round fight against Cain.

Does Cain have more tools?

Yes. Is he technically better? Yes. Could Edgar beat Fitch? No. My point is that Cain simply isn’t big enough to deal with the power that Brock will be bringing in his td, much like little Frankie wouldn’t be ablt to stop Fitch once he closed in on him. Just like my girl always reminds me, size matter. And like me cain don’t got it. (Jk)

Cain has no chance.

Every single thing Cain has as a factor will be nulled as soon as that door closes. The size advantage will overwhelm him.

Brock isn’t going to stand in the middle of the octagon and exchange punches. Standing in the middle allows Cain to use his obvious better striking, his speed and allows him to stuff a takedown.

No, No. Brock is going to corner him. Push him against the cage. Stopping his striking, speed and takedown. Then pure strength and size will overwhelm for the takedown. Then once against the cage getting back up is much more difficult to do as well.

Brock pretty much told his Game plan on the Primetime show and I can’t see Cain doing anything to stop being slowly cornered.

I didn’t think he was the best HW before the loss and I certainly don’t after. Best HW of all time, but his time has passed. I would pick him to lose to Brock, AO, Cain, JDS and Carwin would be a toss-up because of his cardio.

Hey man you know more than any other that no one is invincible.

Some small guys will beat some big guys from time to time.

Size means little

It’s the skills and yes Cains stand up is better, the big question who’s MMA ground game is bigger I think will decide the fight and I think Brock is much more effective on the ground than Cain but we will see because this fight will be a tough fight. They are both around the same height as Big Roy Nelson also has the size advanatage in almost all his fights so far.

Hand-Job-Bandit

You always got the most to say. You are one of those annoying little people I bet with big mouths to make up for your short stature. At least cut your crap in half so we can at least see other people’s point of views instead of your smart A*# crap.

Let's do a WWE edition of UFC

Throw Brock, Cain, Roy and JDS in at the same time. Last one standing wins it all. lol

It's all about the entertainment.
