That being said, I’m afraid GSP sums up my opinion of Brocks last fight. I think Cain’s wrestling is good enough to stay outta trouble and he picks Brock apart on the feet all day. I say a TKO finish in the 4th is likely.

I just really think the size/strength difference is too much
Carwin had a chance, and JDS hits like a truck so I think he has a chance, but I got no faith in Cain being able to hurt Brock or fend off his take downs.
Cain has knocked out plenty of guys I don't think power is an issue.
And I havn’t seen anything in his game that makes me think he can’t stuff Brock.

He gave Brock everything he had, and couldn’t stop him.
If Cain can somehow keep it on the feet, then Brock’s in trouble. Cain’s striking is far superior.

No way in hell can JDS keep from being taken down, no way! If Cain can do it than I think he wins. With Brocks size and strength I can’t see Cain not being on his back. His wrestling has to be better than Brocks by a lot to accomplish that feet.

I just rewatched the Velasquez/Big Nog fight on Spike last night
Two things really struck me:
1) Cain looked small compared to Noguiera (to me anyway)
2) During a few of the early exchanges, Cain looked like he was having a little trouble with Nog’s reach.
I think if Brock can keep him outside, he’ll have little problem dispatching Velasquez.

With Cain’s short looking reach (I don’t know what it actually measures), Brock could probably keep him off with elbows. lol

The Cain train hasn't even left the station yet.
The guy is as over-hyped as they come. He has one actual KO on his resume and it was too a guy that just stood still. For being marketed as a “KO specialist” it is hardly impressive.
Good wrestling? Yah. He wrestles good against scrubs and guys with 0 ground game. He is noted for picking guys up and slamming them. he will not be picking brock up.
He also has a suspect chin. He was seconds away from being back in the unemployment line when he fought Kongo (who he also could not finish). But he luckily got through.
Cains standup will be nulled by Brocks size. Pinning Cain against the cage much like Carwin did to Mir stops every single thing that you fan boys hype Cain about.
And Cains BJJ will be no better then Brocks.
What does this guy have as a weapon that will expose Brock that hasn’t already been shown?
He doesn’t have KO power like Carwin. He doesn’t have Subs like Mir, and he doesn’t have a chin.

Theres a difference between KO and TKO.
Brad Morris. No longer in UFC. 3 fight losing streak.
Jake O’brien. No longer in the UFC and won with a crucifix. Not a KO. It was via not protecting.
Denis Stojnic – No longer in UFC. Another TKO. The guy turtled and did nothing. He got Boo’d out of the building.
Chiek Kongo – No ground game. Almost knocked him out. Could not finish him.
Ben Rothwell – Another TKO that could be argued as an early stoppage. I’ll admit, good performance on Cains behalf but still. early stoppage.
Big Nog – Big Nog wasn’t there that night. He shouldn’t of been in that octagon. it was poor showing.
So someone please tell me where the train begins?

And the Rothwell fight was not early, the ref told him not to get hit so many times without defending and he couldn’t. Cains comp has gone up gradually and Kongo was his first test outside his comfort zone and he passed with flying collars. No one that I recall has ever ran through Rothwell like that and no one was saying Nog was done until Cain put it on him.

Rothwell I feel was stopped early. Ya, he was being dominated but still an early stoppage.
And don’t get me wrong, I think Cain is amazing and I would bet the house on him against anyone else. I just think Brocks tools out weigh his.

He is a good prospect who has 3 legit wins (Kongo, Rothwell, Nog). And actually, the Rothwell fight was the one that sold me. Ben is a solid fighter IMO. The fact that he is undefeated and was the first guy to knock out a healthy Nog, says something to me. He has legit wrestling skills and really good stand-up. I don’t see him knocking out Brock by any stretch, but I think he has good enough wrestling to stay out of trouble (mostly), excellent cardio, and from what all his training partners say- the dude just knocks people out in sparring sessions. Yes, that doesn’t always translate into a world beater in the cage, but I think the kid is legit.

Cain giving up too much size, strength, reach, etc.. Just a bunch of haters that can’t let Brock’s WWE days go and ignore his NCAA wrestling pedigree. I could care less where a guy comes from as long as he brings it every time and Brock does just that. I’m thinking he disposes of Cain the same way he did Mir. Pin him up against the cage, drag him to the ground and pound him into a “Brown Tortilla”. Brock by canned hams to the face in round 2 or 3.
Cain doesn't look like Brock but I don't think he'll be giving up that much in strength.
Cain easily picked up Rothwell and carried him around, I think the strength differential will be negligible

One thing I sometimes forget is how sick Brock was and how much it took to comeback.. He definitely had some ring rust.. Although I think Carwin beats Lesnar in a rematch I think we will see exactly where Lesnar is at in this fight.. Cain will test him…It is a very difficult fight to pick as there is too much limited information.Anyone who thinks they know is just guessing..

SD Exhibit #1: Explanation.
Our sig bet was for 1 month for each of 3 of Brocks fights: Brock/Carwin, Brock/Cain, and Brock/JDS. ALL THREE. I did honor the bet following Brock’s (sort of) win against Carwin. I was on vacation during the fight (but still found a way to see it). While I could have started and ended the month on the 3rd, I in the interest of honor, something Puck seems to lack, started the month from the time that I changed the sig 7/6–8/6.
Yes, I did not post as much (relative terms) as I did before the Lesnar fight as I did after there are two reasons: A) Debating Lesnar is one of my favorite things to do, after the fight there were several posts I did make but basically the month of July became the Chael Sonnen show leading up to 117 so the number of Lesnar posts declined and so did my posting habits somewhat. B) I am a graphic designer and the holiday season is coming up (ads for retail Holiday run in October now) and this is the busiest time for job, designs for October ads release to publications in July. There admittedly was less time available to me to post.
HOWEVER, I was not running or ducking any postings, and tried to post as much as I could. As you will see later in my case that I in fact went right in to the lion’s dens with my posts (I even received compliments on my hanging in there following a Fedor loss and a Brock [sort of] win.)
