Latest UFC 120 odds and betting lines for 'Bisping vs Akiyama' on Oct. 16

120-odds_medium

The clock is ticking ... literally.

We're just a few days away from the upcoming UFC 120: "Bisping vs. Akiyama" Spike TV event, which takes place from the O2 Arena in London, England, on Saturday, October 16.

And the closer we get to showtime, is less time that you have to place your bets.

This weekend's action is, of course, headlined by Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 3 Champion Michael Bisping, who tries once again to get into the 185-pound title hunt when he takes on International fighting star Yoshihiro Akiyama.

"The Count" is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dan Miller at UFC 114 earlier in the year, which may explain why he's been tagged as a -220 favorite against "Sexyama," whose UFC 116 loss to Chris Leben in July left him as a +175 underdog.

Perhaps the bookies weren't impressed with Carlos Condit's TKO win over Rory MacDonald at UFC 115 back in June -- or maybe they were overly impressed with Dan Hardy's ability to survive five rounds against Georges St. Pierre at UFC 111 last March.

Either way, the "Natural Born Killer" is wearing +145 to "The Outlaw's" -175.

Here are the latest UFC 120 odds (- = favorite; + = underdog):

i've got both dogs. i got akiyama for 200 at +180. actual ticket was fanshoted here.

plus i got condit for 200 at + 135. one of these dogs will come in and i’m more confident about akiyama.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. The most hated and misunderstood person on the MMA blogs.. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.

I agree, both will win!

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL

+1

I got both backed in the one bet but I’ve only 20 down (I’m a college student so can’t throw down much). I’ve em on the same docket so I need both to win and I put Hathaway down to get a bit more cash on the winnings

Can’t believe Hardy is even a favorite. He’s a decent striker but has poor TDD and a very bad ground game (see the Marcus Davis fight).

by frosnt1 on Oct 12, 2010 1:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Hopefully it pays off for ya Mike

I think it will all the same. Might do another docket with more fighters on it. Maybe include Kongo and some undercard fights like Fischer and Wilks. I might exclude Sexyama though cause Bisping MIGHT win with his hit’n’run tactics

I really hope Akiyama wins this fight....

and I wont even be that devastated if he loses. As a Bisping fan you live in constant fear of flash knockdowns, so when it happens the dissappointment is mitigated.

Hathaway Hardy Bisping all win by tko/ko without much trouble is how i see it. The best Leben there has ever roided up the eye balls been was Bisping’s scraps years ago and Akiyama’s cardio was rubbish last fight. Add to that the reach and work rate Akiyama doesnt have much of a chance. I would be shocked if Bisping loses this he is usually great at getting by this level of opponents. Im just as exited to see the Brits next opponents named so that tells you how exited i am for this card.

Bisping's opponents RIP

Nothing biased about thinking that Condit and Akiyama are better than their respected opponents.

Hathaway, Hardy, and Bisping all win by tko/ko without much trouble?

Really? I mean I could see the Hathaway fight going quick but probably not the others. I was just giving TonyUK a hard time lol

by leerage on Oct 12, 2010 12:19 PM EDT up reply actions

You really see Hardy winning with ease? Honestly I see Condit as the favorite.

Bisping can win by decision with his patented hit and run, but that’s the only way IMO.

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL

by MBOW on Oct 13, 2010 8:29 AM EDT up reply actions

I am not sure I see Hardy or Bisping winning easily...

Condit has fought heavy hitters before and has never been TKO/KO. Saying Hardy wins easily by TKO/Ko is probably the most biased review. While I see Hardy having a very good chance at the win, Condit is the much better all around fighter and outside of of Hardy’s fight with GSP has been in the cage with a higher quality list of opponents.

As far as Bisping/Akiyama while I think he has a great chance at the win as well(as much as it pains me to say that) he is very susceptible to the flash knockdown. His big advantage with a lot of his opponents was his ability to avoid the take down and Akiyama has great Judo Throws, decently heavy hands, and a good chin. I am not sure how you would call for an easy KO/TKO when he has only on KO in 17 fights and that was to a 265 pound Kick Boxing Champion in Jerome Lebanner. He has fought against much heavier handed fighters in Leben and Manhoeff (who is also a much better striker than Bisping) who were unable to KO/TKO him and you are expecting Mr. Pillow Fist to KO/TKO him. Interesting review.

can't agree more

why is Hardy the favorite? His best win is over Mike Swick and Condit has many more tools then swick. Condit should win this fight unless he lets his guard down in the standup

Condit utilizes 8-point striking, as opposed to Hardy’s rudimentary boxing; Condit has one of the best sub games in the UFC, Hardy is an upside down turtle on the mat. Standing or on the mat, Hardy is completely outclassed.

Our lives change like the weather, but a legend never dies.

by P-Dub on Oct 12, 2010 12:15 PM EDT up reply actions

standing I completely disagree

show me highlights of better stand up from Condit; he needs to sub hardy or hes gettin clowned

by theworldismine on Oct 12, 2010 1:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Hardy 11 TKOs in 23 wins
Condit 11 TKOs in 24 wins.
The difference is Condit utilizes knees and elbows with punches and kicks while Hardy just punches. More diversity means more ways to win.

yeah good point, im talkin UFC though

Condit was definitely losing stand up to Rory Mcdonald, and Hardy’s outpointed every striker ive seen him o against, he made mike swick look bad

I hate Bisping

I really dislike Bisping but I think he will beat Akiyama. If he wins I hope they give him the winner of Marquardt/Okami for the #1 contender spot. not sure if Marquardt/Okami winner is guaranteed a title shot or not. I really want to see Bisping get knocked out cold again. Why is he so cocky and annoying?

by valueadded on Oct 12, 2010 12:01 PM EDT reply actions

He had some goodwill with the fans in the beginning, but what initially seemed like charisma veered off into cockiness. When he coached TUF, especially, is where he lost me.

British and think Bisping is seriously Over rated

Hope he gets KO’d it would be slick. He is so fucking boring to watch. Hathaway should win he is a great prospect and hope he goes along way. As for Hardy i have always thought he has been over rated but always seems to scrape a decision .

by JC1109 on Oct 12, 2010 12:11 PM EDT reply actions

Sexy is a steal

Melvin Manhoef couldn’t put him away, so I doubt Pillowhands McTeatime can. Plus, Sexy punches pretty damn hard (I’m about 90% sure Leben was unconscious after that big left in the second) and Bisping’s been dropped in three of his last four fights.
And that’s not even mentioning the Judo.
Sexy wins it.
