Agreed

The way Brilz handled lil Nog on the ground was some of the most entertaining grappling I’ve ever seen. Pair Jason up with Mats and you got a helluva fight. Brilz by TKO mang.

I’m not sure if this works with a non-German IP address, but the quality of the stream is top-notch, so it’s worth a try:

when is the last time you’ve seen silva in trouble in the ufc cage?

by sittingbull on Nov 13, 2010 5:58 PM EST up reply actions

This has been nagging me...

After the fight, Silva mentioned that he planned/hoped to get a submission victory over Sonnen. He wanted to prove that his black belt in BJJ under Nogueira is to be taken seriously.

From what I can tell, Silva’s default game plan (if you can call it that) is to go in, feel out his opponent for a minute or two, look for holes and exploit them.
Is there any chance that his plan to get a submission victory could be to blame for his uncharacteristic bad performance during the entire fight?

by dres on Nov 13, 2010 6:26 PM EST up reply actions

good point

or it couldve been the injured ribs if i recall correct, but still you have to give credit when credit is due, the rematch will anwser all the questions. no juicing, no injuries, no excuses

by sittingbull on Nov 13, 2010 6:29 PM EST up reply actions

Or it could be that he had a fist in his mouth 2.4 seconds after the opening bell instead of taking his customary 60-90 seconds to guage distance and timing.

i heard 30-27 and my heart sank i could feel the rip off coming. At least the right guy won, and in the state of MMA right now that’s all we can hope for. Maybe some day we’ll have consistent 29-28 scorecards for such a tight close fight.

damn my stream went out as those fighters were making their entrances...oh well...doesnt sound like it was too exciting

i was going for nate….sucks he lost…

but okami vs silva…damn thats gonna be such a hard ppv to sell…its gonna be worse than edgar/maynard…they better have a HUGE co main event on that card…it better not be the card where they start putting little no name 135 fighters on the card….they need something to sell this fight…cause okami/andy is gonna do horrible ratings wise

when was the last time fedor beat someone that cain wouldnt absolutely destroy? i cant think of a single person...

Agreed.

Don’t get me wrong, I love both fighters – but the fact that this fight won’t sell is the only reason why Okami still hasn’t gotten his shot for the title.

100% agreed.

you would think the last man to “defeat” silva would have had a chance to really prove it in a rematch a long time ago

this must be the worst UFC card by far..
its even subpar for a fight night..

yea i agree with that , i like okami too…and his title shot is WAY over due..anyone who beats nate deserves to get the shot..and no one in that weight class deserves it more than him…but i just think its gonna be such a ratings disaster that they’re gonna HAVE to build a sick card around it….

especially since neither guy speaks english (or andy refuses to) there will be no fight hype talk to go with their dull personalities….or if its vitor, vitor isnt gonna trash okami cause there really isnt anything bad to say about the guy
