UFC 108 ratings on Spike TV attract 1.5 million viewers

Spike TV's preliminary card broadcast for UFC events has been a boon for casual MMA fans and enthusiasts alike since it began in September with UFC 103.

In fact, UFC 108 generated the biggest overall audience for the preliminary card broadcasts yet, while the ratings remained roughly the same.

Spike announced that an estimated average of 1.5 million viewers watched the one-hour broadcast of UFC 108 preliminary bouts. The bouts featured in the segment included Cole Miller-Dan Lauzon and Martin Kampmann-Jakob Vokmann, as well as replays of Mark Munoz-Ryan Jensen and Mike Pyle-Jake Ellenberger.

To put the figure in perspective, the UFC 103 and 104 shows drew 1.4 million viewers, while UFC 106 recorded 1.3 million.

Those broadcasts generated household ratings of 1.0, as did Saturday's UFC 108 program. A ratings point represents 1 percent of total TV households in the United States.
