Im sorry to say, but EA MMA looks alot better than UFC Undisputed. Graphics are way better and the controls will probably be way better too. I saw the previews to this years UFC 2010 and it looks all the same, with graphics, and just added fighters, I dont know if anyone noticed last years UFC game, but alot of the fighters were not photorealistic alot look like they were made with the Creat A Fighter engine. only a few were really photorealistic.

Meh, I'll reserve judgement

You can’t get an accurate perception of any game from just a couple of screenshots and 20 seconds of gameplay footage. It could be good, or it could totally bite. Saying that it looks better than Undisputed is reaching at best.

they just announced Joachim "Hellboy" Hansen is going to be in the game too

ea sports

EA sports will not make a game that blows, they own sports games. If not for the fact I love mma I would play fight night over undisputed any fuc&*in day. I agree you can’t judge one a clip or photo, but EA Sports is a better gaming company that THQ. Its not even debateable

sucks that there won’t be any UFC fighters in it.

I agree Dakatak

Its hard to tell from a couple screen shots. But in my opinion, UFC Undisputed was a highly entertaining and fun game. When considering it was essentially the relaunch of the MMA game and was the first MMA game in a great while, it was great and surpassed most expectations. Everyone seems to know its flaws

Flaws: Limited movements/styles, no fighting on the cage, limited submissions, limited story, weak online play/glitch prevention

However, the question is, how will EA take note of these, and how will THQ improve upon their great base. Personally, I will let graphics take a backseat to superior gameplay and a higher fun factor. Having said that, I thought UFC Undisputed had decent graphics, and they would look better in my opinion, if they tightened up some of the animations. EA sports MMA looks like they have good graphics but the character models looks a little funny to me. Fedor looks goofy to me in the preview of him vs Rogers and Lashley looks a little of to me as well. His arm looks too small and his wrists too skinny. Either way, its only speculation and as I said, gameplay is more important.

Im looking forward to them both. Personally, I am biased toward UFC undisputed because of how impressed I was with 09. But I say bring em both on!

EA sports

Doesn’t impress me much. They are behind the curve in many sports related games. I’ll give it to em on Madden NFL but all others are weak.

by wangchun77 on Jan 28, 2010 9:08 PM EST reply actions

Seriously???

Name one game other then NBA that they are “behind the curve”

by GOLDIGGAH on Jan 28, 2010 9:36 PM EST up reply actions

ea sports

Ive never played a better hockey and soccer game then fifa10 and nhl10. Fight night round 4 was 1000 times better then any other boxing game out. Madden as you said is still awesome and nba live is weaker then its competition but it was a huge step forward from last years game. In addition ea sports had the best baseball games with the MVP series before they lost the rights to MLB.

I've always been more of a PES fan than of FIFA but I agree that EA have made a lot of quality sports games

Fight Night is much better than any combat sport game including Undisputed, it’s so much more realistic and fun to play. Not saying that Undisputed was a bad game but I prefer Fight Night. Hopefully the next 2 MMA games will be even better, as EA have proven that they can make quality fighting games and THQ will have learnt a lot from their first UFC game and already seem to have fixed a lot of the issues with the last game.

sweet.

Me and my friends have always been huge PES fans too, specially PES 4 it’s the most classic football game i’ll ever play.

fresh like uhh.

by RoBerto. on Jan 29, 2010 1:38 AM EST up reply actions

agree PES is way better than Fifa

but have been told Fifa 10 is pretty damn good, and is giving PES a run for its money!

As for those who say EA are shit, um i respectively disagree, having done games design at uni and worked in the industry EA is one of the better studios out there, except when it comes to Games that are movie adaptations as they just use generic rendering engines etc to get the game out as quickly as poss in time for a movie release.

I think EA MMA will dick all over UFC 2009 but as 2010 will have to wait till i see some move stuff!

Every night i would pray to God for a new bike, then i realized God does not work that way, so i stole one and asked him to forgive me

by CoNr on Jan 29, 2010 4:42 AM EST up reply actions

EA sports are awesome

NBA live has improved a lot and well madden is madden, always great. However, without the UFC fighters this game can not and will not be great. It would have been awesome to have been able to create all the dream fights such as Fedor vs Brock or Gegard vs any top UFC LHW.

by MMACHAMP on Jan 28, 2010 10:15 PM EST up reply actions

you are an idiot.

its basically that simple.

I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.

I had no problem with ufc undisputed, it was more than I expected.
I do want against the cage fighting and more submissions and flowing combos would be cool. Ima buy both ea mma and ufc 2010
I don’t care as long as they’re fun to play.

why try to pick one or the other. its not like they’re both being released at the same time, right? i’ve heard UFC released in May, and EA MMA in the Fall

but the graphics suck lashey has two different skin tones abd the trailer was horrblie and annoying

by tkosteve on Jan 28, 2010 9:37 PM EST reply actions

I think it looks pretty good

EA doesn’t get to produce a game with UFC star power, but the quality is undeniable.

by MMACrossfire on Jan 28, 2010 9:45 PM EST reply actions

I will be buying both games!

Because that’s the kind of guy I am.

by MMACHAMP on Jan 28, 2010 10:07 PM EST reply actions

It all depends on how the controls work

EA does make some great games but remember not all there great games have started out that way or have been the best every year. No one else can make a NFL football or MLB game so of coarse they are going to be the best. Infact the last year they had competition on a NFL game almost every major ranking site from IGN to gamespot had the NFL 2K game rated much higher and, I still loved the madden then but for the first time in many years I had two football games with different styles. As well EA only got into the game because of the Undisputed success so it will be interesting to see the quality that EA is putting into this game the graphics will not make this a good game, gameplay will make this a good game good and before I purchase it I will have to rent this one.

Real nice graphics! looks just like fight night but mma

need to have a stacked roster to pull it off though.. and need to have tournament mode and any weight class can fight each other!.. needs to happen!

by casale4rmpsca on Jan 28, 2010 11:32 PM EST via mobile reply actions

That would be a wicked idea for Undisputed as well

Imagine if Undisputed allowed you to use the Pride rules and tournaments!! I haven’t played Undisputed since call of duty MW2 came out but I got in more than my fair share games.
