World Extreme Cagefighting's (WEC) March 6 card is coming close to completion, as Bryan Caraway and Fredson Paixio will meet on the preliminary card of WEC 47 in Columbus, Ohio, according to MMAWeekly.com.
Caraway is coming off a submission loss in his WEC debut against Mark Hominick at WEC 46: "Varner vs. Henderson". The loss snapped a three fight win-streak which included two first round stoppages and a unanimous decision victory.
Paixao's short stint in the WEC has left him without much to be happy about. After dropping a unanimous decision to jiu-jitsu ace Wagnney Fabiano at WEC 40, Paixao lost via split-decision to Cole Province, but the result was turned into a No Contest after Province tested positive for a banned substance.
However, regardless of the change to No Contest, Paixao is still seeking his first win with the promotion, as he has failed to achieve victory twice. The submission ace will certainly be looking at this fight as an opportunity to take a big step forward, while gaining some job security with the promotion.
WEC 47 is set for Columbus, Ohio on March 6. The card is headlined by a bantamweight championship bout between champion Brian Bowles and challenger Dominick Cruz. The card also features the return of two of mixed martial arts' all time greats, as Miguel Torres and Jens Pulver look to get back to their winning ways.
