Bitetti Combat 6: Kazushi Sakuraba sought as potential opponent for Paulo Filho on Feb. 25
The organization of Bitetti Combat is making every effort to sign legendary mixed martial artist Kazushi Sakuraba to fight in Brazil against Paulo Filho at the promotion's upcoming sixth event on Feb 25, according to Tatame.com.
Alex Hooligan of Bitetti Combat is traveling to Japan this week to negotiate with Japanese fighters including Yuki Kondo, among others.
"The Gracie Hunter” became famous after beating three honorable members of the Gracie Family: Royler, Royce and Renzo at the now-extinct Pride Fighting Championship. Sakuraba fought at Dream 11 and 12, managing two submission wins over Rubin Williams (Kimura) and Zelg Galesic (kneebar).
After losing his WEC middleweight belt to Chael Sonnen, Filho squared off Melvin Manhoef at Dream 10 in his return and finished the fight via submission (armbar), after suffering a flurry of punches from the vicious striker. “The Bullet” also scored two additional wins over Alex Schoenauer and Tatsuhiko Nishizaka at Bitetti Combat, slowly climbing the steps back into the spotlight.
Here's how Bitetti Combat 6 is shaping up thus far:
Glover Teixeira vs. Jeff Monson
Fabio Maldonado vs. Valentijn Overeem
Cristiano Marcello vs. Luciano Correa Izzy
Ediene “Índia” Gomes vs. Amanda Nunes
Luiz Firmino “Buscapé” vs. Francisco Drinaldo “Massaranduba”

This dude has been around forever, what a competitor, serious legend...
Wand had his number every time tho……
Tito Ortiz: I think Chuck's lost a step, maybe i've lost a step also, but that's what makes the fight so exciting!
Hmmmmmm
Edurado i guess his win over Ryan Gracie doesnt count then……..but anyway i do see him being able to get a win over filho…..but it is unlikely
Let's hope his knees can hold up. Then i'd pick him all day long.
Filho couldn’t finish Alex schonauer(sp?).

1 of my very favorite fighters EVER!!!!
H^e wont ever get out grappled, so if his knees hold up, he will have a great shot against Filho. Expect sick grappling on display out of this match up!
Long live the Gracie Killer
exciting and good news. Hope he beats Filho!!

In this picture he sort of looks like that kid who sang that Jason Mraz song on the ukulele.

Shogun lost a close decision! Everyone get crazy!
pretty decent card.
will be nice to watch the vids the day after.

i worry about saku’s long term health. seriously. he went out via those hammer fists fromt he last guy he subbed…..and Filho will DEF hit him harder than that. Filho is built like a tree trunk.
