Marloes Coenen stands unfazed in the wake of Cristiane Santos' recent destruction of the Strikeforce 145-pound division, including a first round ass kicking of MMA mega-star Gina Carano last August. The Dutch Dame is confident her ability to expose the weaknesses of Santos will unplug "Cyborg's" title reign at the upcoming "Miami" event on Jan. 30 and a win would make her the second fighter from the Netherlands (Alistair Overeem) to hold Strikeforce gold in 2010. Hopefully she doesn't follow in his footsteps when it comes to title defenses. Does she stand a chance against the Brazilian bruiser?

Technically it wasn’t mma – it was pure vale tudo/NHB. Promotion went dead after cops busted it up but they use to stream shows, even were advertised prominently on Sherdog back in 07. I believe she was jsut a housewife who trained at Gordo’s school but don’t take my word on that. MMA is such a deep ocean that 99% of people will never see gems like this simply coz they can’t venture out even past sengoku.

from looking at this chick…..Dan Hardy has a better chance of beating GSP!

Personally i think cyborg will win but she has a way better shot at beating Cyborg than Toughill. I compare to Daley and Fitch fighting GSP. Only has at least something to offer while the other is simply more durable.

I like Coenen's chances at getting the submission as well
Cyborg made some huge mistakes in the grappling against Gina when she let herself get mounted twice, against a legitimate female MMAst instead of a postergirl or a Japanese women half her size she can’t afford to make such sloppy mistakes and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she gasses and gets submitted in the second. Coenen is certainly worth a gamble at the odds NNR gave as well, Cyborg is far from unbeatable and Marloes has had to earn her shot at the belt.

Just because she won't let it happen, doesn't mean it is still not going to happen...
There is a ton of stuff in my life I say I am not going to let happen and does. Some stuff is just out of our control. Marloes being competitve against Cyborg is one of them! Marloes best chance is to weather an early storm of a round and a half and hope Cyborg gasses enough to submit. God only knows what kind of beating she will have to take to get to that point. That and if she is luck enough that Cyborg just gets to confident and leaves out a limb to be taken.
