UFC LW 8-Man Tournament Quarter Final #3

We all know that BJ Penn is the most dominate LW in the world. To the point that there is practically no one who can really provide a viable threat to him. But what if BJ were to suddenly vanish? The UFC LW landscape would change dramatically. With that in mind, who would rule the UFC's LW division in a world without BJ Penn? I say we find out, Tournament style...

Below is an 8-Man Single elimination bracket to determine which LW would rule the division. Quarter Final # 2 of the tournament saw Frank Edgar take a convincing victory (68% of the vote) over Joe Stevenson. Looks like the Maniacs felt Edgar's ever-improving boxing, and superior takedown defense where enough to hand Stevenson yet another loss to a quality opponent. Edgar now moves on to the Semi-Final round where he will take on the Tournament # 1 seed Kenny Florian. That could prove to be the fight of the Tournament. Who will be the next to move on?

Quarter Final 1: 1 Kenny Florian
8 Takanori Gomi Semi-Final 1: 1 Kenny Florian
4 Frank Edgar
Quarter Final 2: 4 Frank Edgar
5 Joe Stevenson Final:

Quarter Final 3: 3 Gray Maynard
6 Tyson Griffin Semi-Final 2:

Quarter Final 4: 2 Diego Sanchez
7 Sean Sherk

We continue the tourney with Quarter Final # 3.

This match-up pits Gray Maynard against multiple Fight of the Night winner Tyson Griffin. Will Maynard continue his Sherk-style quest for improved hands instead of utilizing his wrestling? Does Griffin have the goods to frustrate Gray on the feet while avoiding the takedown?

Lets hear it Maniacs. Will the favorites move on, or will we see an underdog rise to the top? You decide.
