WEC 47: Leonard Garcia returns against Diego Nunes on March 6

World Extreme Cagefighting's (WEC) March event for this year is beginning to round out with the addition of two dynamic featherweights looking for redemption, as Diego Nunes and Leonard Garcia have verbally agreed to a featherweight bout at WEC 47, according to MMAWeekly.com.

Garcia is coming off a unanimous decision loss to the ever-improving Manny Gamburyan last Nov. at WEC 44: "Brown vs. Aldo." The former top contender to the 145-pound throne has not seen much success since dropping the title fight to Mike Brown at WEC 39 with the lone bright spot a narrow split-decision victory over Jameel Massouh at WEC 42.

Nunes, also a man looking to rebound from recent failure, will attempt to get back to his winning ways after dropping a unanimous decision to L.C. Davis, which was the first loss in his MMA career. "The Gun" had been on a two fight winning streak in the WEC and rising in the always competitive featherweight division.

The bout has "Fight of the Night" written all over it -- the two fighters are always game to throw down inside the Octagon. While a win does not escalate either fighter to contender status, a victory for either will be a huge step toward the top of a division ruled by champion Jose Aldo, along with former champions Urijah Faber and Mike Thomas Brown.

WEC 47 is set for Columbus, Ohio, on March 6, 2010. It will be headlined by a bantamweight title bout between champion Brian Bowles and top contender Dominick Cruz. Miguel Torres and Jens "Lil' Evil" Pulver are also featured on the card, as the two attempt to return to the winning ways they had become so accustomed to.
