Maia’s bjj is still a different class

He can have that black belt all he wants but when your opponent is a former world champ in bbj well let’s just say he on a diffrent level altogether. Hope maia wins this won he my favorite middleweight just hope the knock out lost is not in the back of his head which it probaly will be.

I do not like the timing of fighters being awarded their bjj bllack belts….I dont like it when it comes before a big fight….I would hold it til after the match. for example: If Miller were to tap Maia, give him his black belt!
Regardless, if it goes to the ground, Maia will make him look like a white belt!

Maia’s got this in the bank. Miller’s only chance is to try to get it done standing but my boy has been training with the Nogs, galvao, jacare, JDS and will finish out his camp with wand.Also his technical mindset and ability to master fundamentals will probly help him step his standup game a lot faster than most IMO. Hell the proof is in the pudding – Look what those guys did to Jacare in one year – his hands were crisp, tight and fast as f*ck.

Good point on Jacare, if Maia can build up his striking skills as quickly as Jacare then he'll be a future MW champion

Good for Dan, nice confidence boost before the fight with Maia
However, he’d be crazy to try to grapple with Demian. I’m a fan of both of them and I’d love to see another competetive ground battle like Maia-J-Mac but if Dan is going to win this then he has to keep this fight on the feet and test Demian’s chin. As for Maia he should look to shoot or pull guard asap because now is not the time to test his striking and black belt or not Miller is not in his league in BJJ. I’ve got Maia by submission but good luck to both guys they’re both entertaining and classy fighters.
