WEC 46 ratings score impressive 640,000 Versus viewers for 'Henderson vs Varner'

World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) kicked-off the New Year with its most ratings in several months, attracting 640,000 viewers for "Varner vs. Henderson," which took place from the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif., on Jan. 10.
It's a nice ratings bump, which is significantly more than the recent numbers the promotion and the network have been pulling in.
By comparison, WEC 45: "Cerrone vs. Ratcliff" -- the promotion's final event of 2009 -- managed to only bring in 330,000 viewers. That's more than double. And the promotion likely has the "California Kid" to thank for a juicy chunk of additional viewers.
Urijah Faber made his return to the blue cage against Raphael Assuncao, submitting the Brazilian in an exciting, fast-paced war that had the fans screaming for more. And that's exactly what they got when Benson Henderson and Jamie Varner went toe-to-toe in the main event of the evening to unify the lightweight title.
"Smooth" would go on to take home the 155-pound gold.
Both fights made a successful combination, bringing in the most viewers for a WEC event since the Versus and DirecTV fallout.

This is proof that Varner is the real draw not faber unlike "the urijah faber" show would like us to think.

Varner the draw?
Does anyone like Varner? The only way he’d be a draw is through the Tito Effect i.e. watching to see him lose. I think that Faber and Brown being on the undercard really helped this show, if it was just Varner-Smooth and a bunch of no-names on this card then it wouldn’t have been as big a draw. WEC shouldn’t overhype Faber but he clearly is a draw.

I presume the point was to bring in the BW class to the UFC
If they’re going to have more PPVs, Fight Nights, foreign cards and shows on VS then they might as well let the top WEC guys fight on UFC cards. At least that way MTB, Faber, Torres, Bowles and Aldo will all be paid properly.

My question
How the heck is Cerrone not as popular as Faber? I don’t get it.

Last time I checked, 330,00 times 2 is 660,000 which is more than 640,000. So how was this more than twice the ratings? I would say that I did like the WEC 45 card more overall. It’s getting a little ridiculous to hang entire cards on one fighter. That just reminds me of Fedor and all of the chumps he has fought.
