UFC 111: Martin Kampmann vs Ben Saunders in the works for March 27
There's a fantastic welterweight match up being constructed between hard-hitting 170-pound standouts Martin Kampmann (16-3) and Ben Saunders (8-1-2) for the upcoming UFC 111 event at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on March 27, according to MMAWeekly.com.
Both fighters have verbally agreed to hook 'em up in the "Garden State" though bout agreements have yet to be signed.
"The Hitman" emptied his clip into Jacob Volkmann when "Christmas" rang in the new year for the injured Rory Markham at the Jan. 2 UFC 108: "Evans vs. Silva" event earlier this month.
It was a much needed win for the Dane, who saw his title aspirations evaporate at the hands of Paul "Semtex" Daley back at UFC 103: "Franklin vs. Belfort" in September 2009. No question he'll be looking to inch his way back into contention by pulling the stinger off "The Killa B."
Saunders turned in a timid performance against Mike Swick at UFC 99: "The Comeback" in June of 2009. There was some question as to whether or not the former TUF 6 star could hang with the big guns in the welterweight division. That was until his first round detonation of Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade" Davis at UFC 106: "Ortiz vs. Griffin 2" this past November.
That, coupled with his 2008 destruction of Brandon Wolff at UFC: "Fight for the Troops," has made it very clear that his size and powerful Muay Thai striking makes him a very dangerous opponent for anyone in the 170-pound weight class.
Including Kampmann.
UFC 111 will feature a 170-pound title defense by promotion superstar Georges St. Pierre as "Rush" answers the call of British striker Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy. Heavyweights Frank Mir and Shane Carwin are also set to collide in an interim title match while Brock Lesnar recovers from recent surgery.

that smiles as much as Ben does.
On the way to the cage – During Buffers announcement – In the fight – After the fight
It’s good to see someone love what they do.
He is always smiling. And I love that.

Wait . . . are you telling me there is a place where making sport of midgets is still socially acceptable? Why am I not there?

We just throw them on the arena floor between rodeo events. They’re natural entertainers.

Come on Mac... This is a solid fight.
Did anybody catch another Goldberg classic last night during the Lawlor fight?
I missed the Goldie classic as I was busy totalling our picks...what did he say?
"He is gonna find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now!"
-Ken Shamrock
I'm not exactly sure....
Some to the effect of…
Goldberg: “Aaron Simpson is the new 30 year old version of the old 40 year old version of Randy Couture.”
Rogan: (Laughing) “What?”
Here's a fun Goldie drinking game to play with your buddies during the next event
Take a drink if Mike…
-Says, "Here we go!"
-Says, "It’s all over!"
-Plugs a non-UFC entity during a fight
-Warns, "Watch the upkick(s)!"
-Says anything that Joe directly and immediately refutes
-Mentions Randy Couture or Chuck Liddell (disregard during a Liddell or Couture fight or if Couture is in the broadcast booth)
-References the "official" UFC stats during the main event
-Calls someone a "future UFC hall-of-famer"
-Brings up Griffin/Bonnar I
-Asks "Can he finish?"
-Tells Joe that you can "make the argument"
-Says, "Virtually identical."
Finish your drink if Mike…
-Doesn’t make you take a drink during a fight that lasts longer than one minute.
"He is gonna find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now!"
-Ken Shamrock
Don't forget...
Superman Punch!!
He’ll even wait until Joe is done talking and mention it a minute later hit or miss
you should add...
“if you will” to your list of quotes
"OH GOD THAT'S DISGUSTING! HE BROKE HIS FREAKIN' ARM"
"hey man that's the business, we're not figure skating"
In the name of the Fedor, the Anderson and the GSP. Amen.

Add in there every time Goldie jumps in with ‘Superman Punch’ every time one is thrown and you have a good list. Unless you’re drinking Kool-Aid, you won’t make it to the main event.
The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful
Even if you play with Kool-Aid, I'm pretty sure it's not good to drink all that damn sugar!
You’ll probably end up with diabetes.
I’d have to use that sugar free shit that all the little sissy kids are drinking nowadays.
The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful
not like the old days...Sunny D!!!!

LMAO!! He's an idiot but I REALLY enjoy listening to Goldie

The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine vs Kerry Schall
Goldberg: “If Jardine’s last name were Johnson, the nickname Dean of Mean would make no sense.”
"He is gonna find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now!"

Mac, you need to do a poll : Goldie's funniest exchange w/ Rogan or dumbest quote. This needs to happen.

My personal favourite is “great HWs like Mike Tyson (and) George Holmes”.
""Blow me, f**kface. Go to hell. I’m sick of you."
Liverpool director Tom Hicks Jr. to a Liverpool fan. And I thought Dana was bad...
funny video, they could definitely add some more, though.
"It's not his breath, it's his central nervous system"
My personal favorite...
Mike Goldberg: “You can hear the corner speaking portuguese!”
Joe Rogan: “Uh, that’s Japanese, brother”
Mike Goldberg: “I should have known that.”
Joe Rogan: “You’re the one married to a Japanese chick.”
Mike Goldberg: “That is correct.”
I remember that Goldie quoted Amir as the toughest nurse to ever compete on TUF...when he meant Nover...during Amir's fight!
Goldie's on ABC now too...I forget what show though
"He is gonna find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now!"
-Ken Shamrock
I thought Amir was a nurse too, and one who isn’t prone to fainting like an 1800s southern belle.
The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful
Maybe, but the quote he used was Nover's description for the TUF series, besides the next A. Silva...
haha yea thought that was funny
plus, a patient care tech is not a nurse.
Awesome fight! Another one for the Jersey card.
I’m excited about this fight. Ben has some crazy knees and kicks and is huge. Both guys are good on the ground, but I think I’ve got to give the edge to Kampman both on the ground and on the feet. Should be a war.
I lost interest after he folded against Swick
"He is gonna find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now!"
-Ken Shamrock
but notice what he did to Marcus Davis?
Tito interviewing Babalu: "I want to tell me what you see, let's go ahead and see by the fight, what you saw, in the ring."
Tito interviewing Fedor: "Let me tell you how you feeling right now?"
Davis beat up a senior citizen (a foot shorter than him) with a bad game plan. I am not impressed with your performance! ---(GSP accent)
oh yeah I noticed.
Killa B is on a swarm.

What happened to Matt Brown?
I remember a couple weeks ago the rumor was Saunders v Brown, which I would have rather seen anyway. Any news on who Brown gets next?
Matt Brown
Event: UFC 111: “St. Pierre vs. Hardy”
Date: Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 10 p.m. ET on pay-per-view (PPV)
Location: Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey
Main event:
170 lbs.: UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre vs. Dan Hardy
Main card (Televised):
265 lbs.: Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin for interim heavyweight title
170 lbs.: Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch*
170 lbs.: Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Brown
"He is gonna find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now!"
-Ken Shamrock
The card just keeps getting better
I expect this fight to be a standup WAR and I’m interested to see how Saunders does against a fairly high level guy like Kampmann. He looked like crap against Swick and then beat the living hell out of Davis. Beating a guy like Kampmann would legitimize him, IMO, and maybe set up a fight with one of the AKA guys.
There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris
stacked
So glad I’m going to this…my first live event. Card just may be one of the best of the year- name wise anyway. Some very interesting fights.
Old enough to know better, young enough to enjoy it...

on paper maybe but for me it'll be tough to top the Jan 2nd card
"He is gonna find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now!"
-Ken Shamrock
tough fight
Saunders will need to step it up… hopefully he can catch Kampers early like Nate and Daley did.
Another great fight for this Jersey card
This PPV is going to be stacked, all of the fights announced so far are exciting. On paper this is easily the best card of 2010. I’ve got Kampmann in this one, though it all depends on which Ben turns up. The guy that folded against Swick will get outclassed whilst the monster that KO’d Davis will be a big threat to Kampmann. Glad to see that he’s getting another shot at top competition anyway.

I like Ben in this fight!
