Chris Leben is back after Jan. 11 win over Jay 'Tough Sucker' Silva

Quoteworthy:

"I love to stand up and bang with guys but when that's their strong point and I'm good all around I might as well put him where he's weakest. We knew stand up was his biggest attribute and it's a strategy of war, attack them where they're weakest. To his credit that guy is tough as hell. I've sunk that choke before and a lot of guys would have tapped, I know that for sure I've been around a while. It was pretty deep he's just a tough sucker."

After back-to-back losses inside the Octagon, embattled Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 1 star Chris Leben rights the ship against promotion sophomore Jay Silva at UFC Fight Night 20 on Jan. 11. "The Crippler" returned to a chorus of cheers in Fairfax and dominated the three round affair with his "war strategy." Does the power-puncher still have the chops to hang with today's elite? Or does he need to slowly work his way back up the 185-pound ladder?

Is that a new tat on Leben's shin?

"Me and Michael are like Mozart...and Mozart's friend."

"No, I'm like Butch Cassidy..."

Leben

I’ll never forget that knockout of martin…..funny almost all the posting before the fight said Leben was a looser and a drunk. Go Leben

I said he was tighter, not looser.

Great win for Leben

I thought he was finished but it’s great that he for once fought smart. He proved that there is some fight left in him and saved his job. If Leben can mix up his brawling with some grappling (and keep away from the booze) then he could become relevant at MW again, certainly this win is a good start.

Welcome back

As much as people like to moan about Leben, the UFC would be a less interesting place without him. He’s a great test to any young-middle tier fighter and is always out there to fight regardless of winning or losing.

Through his TUF moments, stupid things he’s said, jail time and the drug bust he brings a lot of stuff on himself… but he’s a character and i like having him in the UFC.

yea im glad to see leben get the win

hes not exactly the most technical fighter in the ufc but you know his fights will always be interesting….since the silva fight hes 4-4…but i think the tuf guys from the original season are allowed more relaxed terms of their performances…the early years of popularity beginning in 2005 from the success of the show really built up the company and leben played a huge part in that…and dana knows that….bonner and forrest could lose 5 fights in a row and they arent going anywhere…but dana already said those 2 will always have a home in the ufc in some aspect just because their fight in the finale

i know leben isnt as safe as those guys but regardless, hes had 14 fights in the octogon and has only been truly destroyed twice…(silva and sakara) but you really cant even count silva…thats just not fair…plus the guy has a great highlight reel…

and having a 9-5 record in the octagon is not too bad…there arent a lot of guys who get 9 wins in the octagon….

my dream fight would have to be Brock Lesnar vs Jake Shields...and before the fight theres a video of jake slapping brock's wife...then id like to see shields try to gay porn a win over brock using his butt sex merry-go-round tactics...the massacre that would take place would be the greatest thing ever televised...every limb jake has would look like corey hill's leg...god i hate jake shields
