Report: Paul Daley vs Dustin Hazelett booked for UFC 108 with Carlos Condit hurt
Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist Dustin Hazelett has been tapped to replace the injured Carlos Condit against British brawler Paul Daley at UFC 108: "Evans vs. Silva" from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Jan. 2, 2010, according to MMAWeekly.com.
No official announcement from the promotion has been released at this time.
UFC 108 features a re-worked main event between former light heavyweight champion "Sugar" Rashad Evans and the hard-hitting 14-1 Thiago Silva. The welterweight showdown between Daley and Condit was supposed to headline the injury-plagued pay-per-view (PPV) event.
It's unclear at this time if "Semtex" vs. "McLovin" will keep that top billing or if another fight will be promoted instead. More on this breaking news in a bit.

Population: Semtex
It is not enough to succeed. Others must fail.

Score!!!
Mclovin is the man. I love seeing him fight. Was pissed that Karo pulled out the last time. McLovin via simplistic arm bar due to Daley’s little knowledge of other other side of MMA training i.e. what actually happens when you don’t stop the take down
Haze takes this
if he fights smart. Take Little Cheick to the ground and get sub on the night.
Well this sucks
I like both guys especially dustin. Haze should win this but Daley is gonna upset him. Haze is gonna have to close distance to get the clinch. That means entering clobbering range. He doesn’t have a good enough shot for a double or single. Even if he gets one, Daley has shown very good ability to swim for underhooks and shuck guys off. The stylistic nuances of this fight and the condit fight are nearly identical except condit probably has cleaner hands simply due to experience. I hope i am dead wrong but that’s the only way i see it. John – u got semtex too?

Semtex by KO
I’m a McLovin fan but he has been KO’d before and could struggle to get Daley onto the ground. This should be a sick fight and a stoppage is guaranteed, Dustin will win by submission if he can takedown Semtex or pull guard but I like Daley’s chances at keeping this fight on the feet, I’m not as confident as I was about Semtex KO’g Condit but if he’s an underdog then I’m definitely betting on Semtex.

Yeah, I got semtex. See it the same way as you do. as much as I love McLovin, Semtex is rising right to the top!
Classic Grappler vs. Striker. I think Semtex will keep it standing long enough to KO, my boy Dustin. GREAT MATCHUP! Pissed that Dustin is going to have to lose!
Well said guys
Semtex doesn’t need it on the feet long to KO Dustin, but where Dustin could obviously win is on the ground, but Daley has only been subbed twice in his last 14 fights once by Jake Shields and once by Sitoru Kitaoka. Is Dustin’s Jits as good as either of those guy’s? hard to say, but I don’t think so. Plus Daley trains with Dan Hardy, whom actually has good subs defense. I don’t see Hazelett winning this as easily as everyone is saying.
In the name of the Fedor, the Anderson and the GSP, Amen.

Hazelett has a sick guard, he’s not got the BJJ credentials of other ground specialists but he’s as dangerous as anyone on the ground, his long limbs and aggressive style make him a monster on the ground. I just don’t think that he’ll get Semtex onto the ground period and Daley’s striking is a different class.

They put this fight together quickly
Probably about 10 different posters called this fight the second the injury was announced.
Glad to be free from Intro's tyranny.
aww shit
I like Daley. I hope he KO’s Haze before he’s inevitably sub’d. Although, his shit talk about Condit was unnecessary, its still entertaining.

Fuck Condit
I was hoping to see Daley knock Condit out. His last fight could have been stopped at least two times that I remember. The way he was just dropping like a sack of potatoes, then turtling. He’s the only over rated chump of the three. How can those guys say Daley is over rated? He isn’t even rated. The worst thing about Condit’s injury is now Daley has to lose to McLovin.
Glad to be free from Intro's tyranny.
I’m excited to see Dustin Hazelett fighting again, and still want to see Carlos Condit fight Paul Daley. But why are so many people thinking Hazelett’s gonna run through Dailey, and give Condit a little chance? Condit’s the most well rounded between the three and he’d probably beat both at what their weak at.

Condit got VERY lucky to not get stopped and it’s criminal that the first round wasn’t 10-8 Ellenberger, he has flattered to deceive so far in the UFC and the fact that Larson struggled so badly against no-names when he also made the step-up shows to me the weaknesses of the WEC boys that made the leap to the UFC.
Semtex was going to make me some nice money, he’ll have a harder time against Dustin but still has a very good chance if his TDD continues to improve, both him and Hardy have to keep working on their grappling to continue their rise in the WW division. War Team Rough House.

Classic Jits vs Striker matchup
If they stay standing, McLovin gets knocked out, if it goes to the ground, Daley is getting submitted. Props to Joe Silva for giving Daley a quality opponent and not some nobody to just fill out the card. I still want to see Condit/Daley, but this will make an interesting fight as well.

Daily all day
He will keep this standing, I like haze a lot, but daily will be a force in the ufc, and win this fight

how are McLovin’s takedowns??

They’re not good enough to get Daley down. His best chance at getting it to the ground is by pulling guard, but will Daley fall into the trap?
I’m going with Daley by KO. I doubt Daley will be the underdog so I’ll probably just use him in a parlay.
Re:
No need to have another fight put on the main card. it’s very obvious by now when you have a fight between guys who are fighting because you’re coming off a loss, it won’t be put on the main card before two guys coming off good wins like Hazelett and Daley… That’s why I knew Joe Lauzon and Sam Stout would get put on the main card… every other prelim is two lower-card guys fighting after losses…
fookin hell...
Massive Daley fan… this isn’t a great match up at all.
Then again, how can you not like Dustin?
