Renzo Gracie: Rashad Evans is 'on fire' to fight Thiago Silva at UFC 108

Quoteworthy:
"Rashad is a really tough guy. I even feel he should fight one division down, at middleweight, because he’s practically my size. But he doesn’t want to hear it; he likes that weight and is on fire. I feel he has a good chance of being division champion again. This fight will be tough, because he’s got a really tricky opponent. We worked together on several aspects so he can return to being champion and let’s see how it goes. I can’t wait for him to get in there."
Former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans has sharpened his jiu-jitsu skills with veteran Renzo Gracie for the upcoming fight against Thiago Silva at UFC 108, the first event of 2010 that takes place on January 1st, in Las Vegas. The 43-year-old Brazilian master makes his debut at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi to fight Matt Hughes, the man who stopped the legendary Royce Gracie in 2006. Will Evans beat Silva, Maniacs?

Yeah it does, prob just a typo
I still dunno who to pick either. Gut says Silva and head says Shad. It sucks, but Silva is a good UD to try earn some money
money
Better off to bet on Thiago. I feel Shad’ takes this, but since he is the favorite, and this in my opinion is such a 50/50 fight, I’m throwing down on Thiago just cause its too close, so take the underdog and run with it.

I feel about the same
but I think Thiago is a bit over rated. He KO’d Jardine the same way everyone does and he hasn’t ever shown great striking or jits. I’m taking Rashad, but I could see Thiago pulling it off. The betting lines don’t do him justice, I think he has a better chance than they would indicate. With that being said I’m still not sold on his skill set, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Same
I think Matt Hughes is the most realistic fighter in the game. He knows his era has ended and just wants some fights people will remember him for. Not only do I want to watch this fight, I want Hughes to win.
good point
He’s not going to take top competitors anymore. Hence Serra, now a 43 year old Gracie. Smart man, love him or hate him.

Renzo
you talking shit again son? stfu and lemme hear no more of this
"I had to fight all my life to survive. They were all against me... but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch." ~ Ty Cobb
Rashad's the man, he's too well rounded, quick and agile for the plodding Thiago, should be a good fight if not main event worthy
Hughes-Renzo = complete waste of time.
"Anderson Silva is the best fighter on the planet...any Anderson Silva fight that is on, people should be buying that PPV, not because he’s my fighter but you know what, he to me is like the Muhammad Ali of MMA...the UFC has been around since 1993, nobody (else) has 10 consecutive wins in the UFC. Anderson has had 10 fights in the UFC, only 1 has ever gone to a decision."
Ed Soares on why Andy is the best fighter in the world
I train at jacksons part time and I know that Renzo has the big affliation with Greg but Rashad wont make a healthy cut to 185. For a long time I thought Keith with proper dieting and some time could lose some of his natural weight and drop but Rashad is just short but has a good thick frame. With that said if Rashad decides to Box Thiago I give the advantage to thiago. Rashad needs to remember how good his wrestling was.
He wrestled in college at 174
I know he’s thickened up since then, but I don’t think he’s any bigger than Rich Franklin.
If you saw him off peak time as I do you could understand he walks around pretty heavy

He should give it a test run.
I think Rashad takes it. Even standing he has the speed advantage, and its not how good his wrestling WAS it is remembering how good it IS

You train at Jackson's and you think Rashad is at a disadvantage on his feet?
Please explain this cause I don’t think this is the case at all. Rashad has more power and more speed and better footwork than Silva. Rashad will be working the angles.
