WEC Quick Quote: Low weight a large factor for Cerrone

I’ve been so light lately. I’ve been 159. And I came into the fight at 158, 159 pounds. I woke up and didn’t even cut weight. I was eating milk duds and drinking coke the night before the fight so… I didn’t diet at all. I was eating at the 24/7 there at the Palms. I was eating every night. I had no problem at all. I guess it’s just time to put some weight on. Maybe get with a personal trainer and try to put like ten pounds of muscle on.

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone's claims that he would be moving down to the WEC featherweight division sometime in the near future have sent waves through the World Extreme Cagefighting community. Cerrone took some time out to talk with Pro MMA Radio this past Monday after his victory over Ed Ratcliff Sat. night. While he has been quoted saying he would be interested in fighting the top featherweights of the promotion, "Cowboy" shed some light on his weight situation, saying that, at this point, he needs to cut down to featherweight or put on the necessary weight to continue to succeed at the 155-pound mark.
