WEC 45 fighter salaries and paydays for 'Cerrone vs Ratcliff'
The official fighter purses for those who competed at WEC 45: "Cerrone vs Ratcliff" this past Saturday night (Dec. 19) from "The Pearl" at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, were released earlier today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).
Butt-kicking bantamweight Joseph Benavidez went home the top earner of the night after pocketing a crisp $25,000 for his knockout win over Rani Yahya. That was just $1,000 higher than the second biggest banker Donal Cerrone. "Cowboy" raked in $24,000, which he probably carried home in the yam-bag of Ed Ratcliff.
Former IFL standout and lightweight future star Chris Horodecki helped himself to $12,000 of the promotion's green -- despite a disappointing TKO loss to Anthony Njokuani, who went home $8,000 richer than he came in.
Scott Jorgensen ($14,000) and Bart Palaszewski ($10,000) also broke double digits with their winning performances.
Here is the complete list of WEC 45 payouts:

For example, the WEC often hands out extra cash for "Fight of the Night," "Knockout of the Night" and "Submission of the Night." To check out these figures for WEC 45 go here.

Silliest thing I've ever seen in a fight
He did a Tito and Cane and paid badly for it. Why on earth do these guys run away from their opponent? What sort of a defence is that?
"If you’re a fight fan, I don’t know how you don’t think that that card is a great card…." Dana White on UFC 108
20%: Percentage of MMAManiacs buying UFC 108 (I guess the other 80% aren't "real fight fans" according to Dana)
I think the tito 1 was funnier!
Tito ran for his dear life with look in his face like he just saw the devil himself, horodecki was just jogging all worry free lol
run run run....
then it went dark….
Every night i would pray to God for a new bike, then i realized God does not work that way, so i stole one and asked him to forgive me
does not pay well to be a small fighter

Horodecki
Chris, H. only fought once in 2008 and one other time in 2009, he needs to get busy, kid is only 22yrs old, so it’s not like he’s washed up. He’s always looked a little soft at 155lbs, maybe he should consider laying off the Polska kiełbasa and get down to 145lbs.
Sick of seeing bad pay days...
Seriously Erik Koch is an up & comer and he will keep winning..
But man $2,000 to show and $2,000 to win. I can’t wait for the day when these guys who fight their asses off get a minimum $5-$8,000 just to show & have that be the standard pay scale.
People need to start selling out these WEC events more
I go to every SAC event and I make sure I buy at least an event tee. Granted I get to see Faber,Brown,Pulver,Aldo,Torres ect.. the Arco cards are so stacked but still, the other events don’t sell out. I see the live gate $$ and I think “that’s it”. Fighters should be paid more regardless and WEC has alot of growing to do. Give it time and the purses with go up. It is bs though.
pay days
What they need to do is develop some sort of a name as a bargaining tool, then make 155 (they all can or are) then knock on Coker’s door. They’ll be paid if their worth it.

yep, paying these guys peanuts keeps the from training full time.
and putting on better fights. the ec isn’t operating at a loss, i wonder what their profits are? i bet they are pretty good if their stars make next to nothing.

WEC UFC
Trust me conan, WEC makes more then enough, or Dana would shut down shop and have a 145 division, then let go 90% of the Wec’ers.

always a sad thread
these guys fight there heart out, the mitzugaki jorgenson fight was insane, as was the visher/ buck fight. im suprised even cowboy, who is one of there bigger stars is getting paid beans. this is why im split with the wec just being added to the ufc, i dont want more weight classes in the ufc but these guys need to get paid what there worth. If kung le is making 150,00 a fight then fighters like torres, cowboy, mizugaki, brown, bowls etc should make 25,000 and double if they win, or at very least 15 to show.
i agree that with these pay days it is keeping these guys from being able to train full time.
zuffa pays their fighters crap.
does anyone know how muchthe anouncers make???

Good question
Hmmm i dunno? But im sure Goldie and Rogan are making a hell of a lot more then these guys.
Going to church doesnt make you any more Christian than standing in a garage makes you a car.
While I agree they should be paid 5k minumum
Strikeforce paid all their under cards 2k and no one even seemed to notice.
Shogun lost a close decision! Everyone get crazy!
ShaiZ
Trust me I noticed. But at least with SF they have something to work towards. Lol what do you work towards in WEC? 15k and 15 to win is about the best you can acheive. Jacare made 66k. Le 150k. It shows at least in SF you’ll be compensated in you continue to grow. Also, that 2k will go up once SF continues to grow. They don’t have the same budget UFC does yet. Or wec.

if zuffa inks that deal with nbc and espn
then everyone in the ufc and wec well get a big pay boost.with big ratings comes big money
UFC/WEC + NBC/ESPN = Big Pay boost
Highly doubt that. It wouldn’t change pay at all IMO. Just make zuffa more money.
Zuffie don’t play that.
