I have been telling you guys or years about Jacre!

this guy will be a top 10 MW in no time! His submission game IMO, is better than Maia’s!
There actual submission game is equal, but Jacre gets the nod because of his stellar takedowns and because h6e has a GSP type of explosiveness and athleticism.

Wow! Jacre has developed some really fast hands! if his stand up keeps improving at this rate, he will be a very difficult fighter to beat!

I cant wait til he makes sheilds look stupid! Sheilds should do everything in his power to avoid Jacre! How can Sheilds win a fight in which he wil be outclassed on the ground? HE WONT!

Im calling it right now, Jacre is going to upset Dan Henderson! Remember you heard it from your boy 1st!

Actually I said it yesterday on the SF results post that Jacare would beat Henderson.

And then God said "Let there be light," to which Chuck Norris replied, "say please."

Agreed, Jacare is the man

He proved why he should have gotten the fight with Jake instead of Mayhem. Jacare is a well rounded fighter, he was far too quick for Lindland and outclassed him everywhere. He proved that he’s one of the best MWs in the world and I’m looking forward to his next fight, I agree that he’d beat Hendo and after that performance I’m worried for Jake if he fights Jacare.

Agreed too!

He was damn impressive last night. This guy is a beast! Henderson will have his hands full that’s for sure.

Nothing new from our boy Souza

I loved how crisp his hands looked. You could see all the X-gym guys in his corner – like Distak and Camoes, they deserve serious credit. I liked his head movement, footwork, balance just brilliant improvements. On the mat, it was academic. Against Hendo, the only thing that causes alarm is the chin. Yes hendo swings some serious hammers but i still have concerns about jacare’s chin from his first fight against Macaco. Let’s hope that was more fight inexperience. That mousasi upkick would have KO’d most people so that doesn’t say much.

It is better than Maia's

Maia beat him once by decision. He’s subbed Maia twice – once at Abu Dhabi and once in the semi-finals of the Copa del Mundo

Gimme 1 round!

Enjoy your belt Jake

With Henderson and now jacare, your poor stand up and lay-n-pray top game have taken you as far as it can in strikeforce. Get back to 170 asap.

Shields Is In Trouble (thank god)

Jacare is the kind of boost that the Strikeforce MW division needs. His standup looks 10x better than before. Shields reign as middleweight champ will be short. Guys like hendo and Jacare are going to send Jake packing back to 170.

Frank is right about Jake though. He is a ratings killer and needs to go.

Frank Shamrock's voice is a ratings killer for me

His biased commentary makes me want to mute him out. Mauro is pretty good but he always gets lumped with hacks on SF shows.

Two weight champion Shields is going nowhere other than the UFC, SF would be stupid to let one of their best fighters leave.

Im still upset

that the UFC didnt try to get Jacare. I see hime being a definate threat to Andersons crown with a few more fights and maybe a year of growth. And who ever said Jacare is better at BJJ than Maia.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKEMwmexT2Y watch that and make your same statement.

by Pain on Dec 20, 2009 4:44 PM EST reply actions

Yes

Jacare has subbed him twice. Sorry to bring that to your attention. Once at Abu Dhabi and the prior year at the Mundials. Maia won on an advantage without even scoring any points after Jacare had just gone through wars against Telles and Xande and beaten Gonzaga earlier that day. So the one time Maia won. Jacare was completely wiped out and Maia couldn’t score a point on him… But Jacare has subbed him at least 2 other times in major competition. Hmmm

Gimme 1 round!

And Roger Gracie did submitted Jacare at the 2005 ADCC (Absolute Division) final also. He’s got to be considered with a better ground game as an MMA fighter, even if there is a weight difference.

Well you got me anyways..

Jacare is my favorite BJJ Player ever since i saw him destroy Werdum. I love how he climbed all over Werdum like a monkey.

by Pain on Dec 24, 2009 6:40 AM EST up reply actions

u really think I never saw that match?

Im talking MMA JITS! Big difference! For example: Werdum is the most decorated HW jits fig5h6ter, but Nog gave him a lesson in mma jits!

In mma jits, I think Jacre and Maia are equal. They will school anyone they face on the ground. I give Jacre the edge because of his strength and explosiveness! He is a GSP type athlete!

by John G. on Dec 20, 2009 11:16 PM EST reply actions

John don't worry about it.

He’s wrong either way.

Gimme 1 round!

They both have superb BJJ

I’d love to see Jacare and Maia compete against each other, though Demian will have to work very hard on his striking and takedowns as Jacare has become a truly well rounded MMAst. I’m a fan of both men though.

With no gi

and Striking I think Jacare would make it very very ugly

Gimme 1 round!
