Roberto

Actually your right on that one, tons of people misspell his name, so could be either way. Lol not to mention in my, what, 10 word post I typed ‘chanced’ instead of ‘changed’.

Whoops.

he looks really different with the beard

Good point JRE, that could be lethal, especially if he’s push too quick by the UFC to make a comeback.

by Alpha Male. on Dec 17, 2009 12:05 AM EST up reply actions

I really doubt the UFC will push him to make a quick comeback.

They are losing money now without him but imagine if he was out for good, not good for business. Plus I don’t think Brock will let anyone push him around IMO.

Carwin would never do that. He has too much respect for the large intestine, which is the greatest intestine in the world, to punch it.

LOL

Why do Mir fans talk so much shit. You guys really show your man crushes by supporting a guy that barely beat Brock in the first fight and got SMASHED in the second.. its very cute true love i guess. Where does this Mir support come fom especially against Brock.. Gotta be the hate

by The real ZACK on Dec 17, 2009 12:49 AM EST up reply actions

why assume we're mir fans

I simply don’t like brock. It has nothing to do with Mir. Anyone that beats Brock is cool by me. I have a long list of reasons I dislike Brock, but bringing up any of them will result in an endless argument, so ill just leave it at that.

Pdub & Jay

Pdub,

Otay, good. I wasn’t sure from your wording if I was in for a long day or not. Lol. Arguing is fine by me I’m sure me you and Jay will have tons on any Lesnar related news to come.

Jay,

So you got it for 190? Did you see the others? I bookmarked the page but didn’t go for it yet. There is 2 or 3 others that are equally as cool for star wars bunny hugs, that I’m seriously considering.

Ps: have either of you heard the term bunny hug, for hoodies? I thought many Canadians called them this. I always have. Maybe its a Saskatchewan thing…

by daniel worby on Dec 17, 2009 12:40 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

I saw a few others....Darth Vader, Jason from Friday the 13th, Joker

But I like this one. Plus I didn’t have any hoodies with white in them. I was on that thread with the bunny hugs talk, I mentioned I had never heard it before.

We will have tons of debates on Brock, Mir, Carwin, Fedor. Seeing as how there aren’t many Brock huggers on this site, PW, Puck head and I will probably be the ones doing most of the Brock defending.

Yeah 190, at Ecko. Can’t wait to stare a motherfucker down across the poker table. He/She isn’t going to know what hit them. LOL.

Not only for one day anymore Sarah. LOL

by jay. on Dec 17, 2009 1:13 PM EST up reply actions

Bunny hug haha

Like I said in the last bunny hug thread, if anyone said that to a hoodie in the UK they’d get stabbed.

Not gonna happen bits

As much as jay has been pissing me off lately, I’ll have to agree with him here. How can you watch what lesnar did to him last time and think mir has a chance.

by mma guru on Dec 17, 2009 12:15 AM EST up reply actions

Mir beat him the first time and rocked him the 2nd

I don’t necessarily think Mir will win but to say Mir has no chance is ridiculous

And then God said "Let there be light," to which Chuck Norris replied, "say please."

by frosnt1 on Dec 17, 2009 12:31 AM EST up reply actions

I like mir and think he is one of the best hw fighters out there, but he has little chance of beating lesnar ever again.

by mma guru on Dec 17, 2009 12:38 AM EST up reply actions

hahaha!

are u sure ur an mma guru??? mir is one of the best fighters and he has a little chance of beating lesner?

so u mean, cock is somewhat unbeatable??

talk about two clowns fighting each other…jesus..

by candyce (formerly known as gaara) on Dec 17, 2009 2:31 AM EST up reply actions

Thats correct and Mir or whoever Brock will face will be a well desrerved contender

Brock will have to face most likely the winner of Mir, Carwin, NOG and Cain and for not fighting for almost a year their chances are a little better but the safe bet is still on Brock because he won’t come back unless he is ready to go 110% and his training should more than make up for his lack of fighting as his training is more grueling than the actual fight.

by Puck Head on Dec 17, 2009 1:58 AM EST up reply actions

mir got lucky in the first firght and got crushed in the second.

rocked him??? he landed one clean shot and lesner took it well. so well in fact that he knocked mir out forty seconds later with vicious ground and pound. these are facts.

by Conan the Barbarian on Dec 17, 2009 2:40 AM EST up reply actions

Brock beat him the first time and lost, he dominated the 2nd and won.

Mir has a chance any HW has a chance to land something big, but Junior Dos Santos, Carwin, Nogueira would have a bigger shot than Mir at beating Brock.

by RoBerto. on Dec 17, 2009 4:37 AM EST up reply actions

With his size, Mir will just easily gas...

and as for Lesnar, he should better get back in game shape, and Mir won’t catch him in this rubber match…

i like Mir's chances as well

Especially with the extra weight. Not to say he can push Lesnar around, I’m sure that isn’t the case. But, it can help to negate it.

Ps: Lesnar fans are just as ruthless when posting on a Mir thread as any people who dislike Lesnar on a Brock thread.

no my cable didnt cut out

Jay,

Will you ever understand reasoning? Do you get that other people feel different then you do about certain situations? I have done all I can to avoid getting in the way of your Brock posts, because when it comes to Brock and you, there is no opinions. So, I try to voice my debates elsewhere on this subject.

I can see both sides of the argument and the reasonings behind supporting either fighter. The odds heavily favor Brock and I don’t deny this. But that in no way means I have to cheer for him, nor that I can’t see some positives from the underdog (Mir).

If you would like to discuss it, I’m all ears. But you are quite sensitive towards Brock and I understand this, as that’s the way I am with GSP and FEDOR.
Have a good’er.

by daniel worby on Dec 17, 2009 9:55 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

"i like Mir's chances as well"

That is all I am talking about. I know that everyone has a chance in a fight against anyone. How can you admit a guy is the underdog, but like his chances? I don’t get that. Take the names Mir and Brock out of it. I don’t get how you can like the chances of a massive underdog at all.

Not only for one day anymore Sarah. LOL

by jay. on Dec 17, 2009 9:59 AM EST up reply actions

massive underdog

Because, I have seen ‘massive’ underdogs pull through in the past. As much as everyone will feel he is a huge underdog (and he rightfully could be labeled as such), I feel that Mir is taking this much more seriously, and will prove to put on a much better fight for Brock then he did previously. The odds aren’t going to help my case. But until sunday after we won’t know if those odds were right or not.

I personally don’t consider him a ‘massive’ underdog. Simply an underdog. I myself would place the odds at:
+195 lesnar
-175 Mir

I’m gonna get torn up for that. Ha ha. Anyways its just my opinion and I value yours as well.

by daniel worby on Dec 17, 2009 12:06 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Those odds make Lesnar the underdog. I think Lesnar would come in around -200 or -225 with Mir at around +140 or +150.

by P-Dub on Dec 17, 2009 12:14 PM EST up reply actions

shit!

That’s exactly what I meant. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them higher but I feel +145ish Mir is fair and around -200 Lesnar.

Sorry about that.

by daniel worby on Dec 17, 2009 12:42 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

I'm not a gambler, unless it is personal bets with friends

So I don’t understand the +/- stuff either. We all knew what you meant though. That is all that counts.

Not only for one day anymore Sarah. LOL

by jay. on Dec 17, 2009 1:15 PM EST up reply actions

I was taking the names and the history out of the equation though.

My point was how could you like the chances of any underdog? I know the pay out would be nice. But the statement you made was just weird. I know what you are saying, I’m not fighting with you on this one. Mir took both of his previous fights with Brock VERY seriously, his attitude hasn’t changed about Brock.

Not only for one day anymore Sarah. LOL

by jay. on Dec 17, 2009 12:14 PM EST up reply actions

A lot of times underdog bets are great for people who actually follow the sport. Odds are based on where the bookies think the money will go, not on who is actually the better fighter. For example, if Tito was fighting Thiago Silva, a lot of U.S. money would likely come in on Tito since casual fans know who he is, even though Silva is the superior fighter. So people who know better could take a nice payout betting on Silva.

people are getting carried away with mirs latest victory against a shitty opponent what do you think lesnar would do 2 kongo

by menace on Dec 16, 2009 11:57 PM EST reply actions

264 vs 280= gnp by the 280 pound guy.

ok bros heres the deal, mir’s put on 20 pounds of mass just to have a chance with lesnar. last time i checked brock cuts down to 265 and puts on 10 to 15 pounds back on when he enters the cage. mir was still 264 in his fight with kongo who was a lean 239. when they fight again lesnar will beat mir the same way he did last time by vicious gnp. mir will then get back on his bike and be done.

by valtheguy on Dec 17, 2009 12:25 AM EST reply actions

cool bros and dudes

Anyways, I was seriously under the impression that Mir also, cut down to make 265, hence weighing in at 264.5. Or else it was simply a coincidence. If anyone has some actual proof for or against this, I’d like to really know for my own curiousity.

by daniel worby on Dec 17, 2009 8:08 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

Brock Dude

I think for health reasons Brocks going to change his diet and will never see more than 245 again….does that mean the end of his career? Doesn’t have to, the question is, did we just see the biggest, baddest Brock we’re ever going to see?.

by THORAZINE on Dec 17, 2009 12:49 AM EST reply actions

Why?

Like, based on what evidence? Just a gut feeling?

by MMACrossfire on Dec 17, 2009 9:32 AM EST up reply actions

Doesnt matter

How much weight Mir puts on he still doesnt have the wrestlinhg or strength to compete. Randy was was less than Mir and still did a 100x better job at wrestling and matching Brock power than Mir ever has.. So to say this new and improved Frank Mir will be able to compete with Brock is impossible.

THE only way Mir has a chance is if this sickness REAlly REally took that much of a toll. Which could be a possiblity.

by The real ZACK on Dec 17, 2009 12:52 AM EST reply actions

Not Exactly

Better believe Mir is working his wrestling defense. If Mir goes to the ground he’ll matchup better with Brocks strength and use more wrestling to avoid getting takendown (give him more time on his feet) or to get to his feet or good position to get a Jits hold…. Franky is a walking, talking Cesspool, Cockhead… but he’s a good gameplaner nowadays… it’s going to be a much more competitive fight.

by THORAZINE on Dec 17, 2009 1:08 AM EST up reply actions

mir compete w/lesnar

Just because you think it to be impossible for Mir to compete with Lesnar due to the new size of Mir being irrelevant in your eyes, doesn’t make it fact. Anything is possible. And this, my friend, isn’t even near impossible. In fact, its quite plausible.

Lesnar looks bad

Reading the other comments makes me feel like I’m hitting the panic button, but Lesnar looks like he’s lost a lot of weight. I think the facial hair and loose clothes are fooling you guys. Im confident he can come back full force if he dosnt need major surgery, but he just looks weak in these pictures. Mayne he should fight James Tony as a warm up when he returns.

by DrewMoney$$$ on Dec 17, 2009 1:34 AM EST via mobile reply actions

Brock will come back and be his normal Ogre self

His cardio might take a toll though. This long a layoff always affects the gas tank no matter how much training someone does.

and please stop saying that Brock won the first fight and Frank got lucky, and all that. I agree the shenanigans Mazz pulled were sketchy but brocks hammerfists werent really doing that much damage. And as for lucky submissions, I dont really believe in them, unless youre fighting sean salmon cause he gives away his arms. Submitting smone is a completely legitimate way of winning a fight and thats what he did. Brock doesnt make any excuses as to why he lost.

no love for jiu jitsu?
