"These sites provide us with a tool to take live streams down. But for our last fight [UFC 106], there were 160,000 streams going."
-- UFC chairman and CEO, Lorenzo Fertitta, who testified on behalf of the mixed martial arts league on Wednesday, tells CNBC.com that illegal live streaming of UFC events online is a major concern, but it’s also hard to deal with.

hope so.
I don’t need it as i watch the events on free tv. but it’s a good thing, right now im watching NHL Ducks at Nucks would suck donkey if i couldn’t watch my favorite teams/sports.
Ducks owned the ice!
Nucks are lucky that the world’s best italian hockeyplayer (Luongo) saved them. Ducks are gonna come on strong now man, just like last year. when they play on top their heavy to meet for any team in the league.
160,000? Really?
I know of like one site with three streams and I have trouble finding another when they’re down. I can’t find one out of 159,997 plus?

I have watched live online streams when im on vacation
But when im not, Ive bught 98% of the UFCs since 2005. I also watch the fights on HDNets online because I dont have that. I dont expect the streams to be shut down but people should buy the ppv if they can.
Lorenzo, you're not exactly cash strapped. You'll be alright

Lorenzo, give people a reason to order.
Having “just okay” cards every third week or so at the current prices is a turn-off. Either lower the prices or cut the frequency of the shows so the cards are full of “filler” fights.
How about giving people who order free merch for ordering? Affliction offered a horrible t-shirt for ordering. WWE used to (Or still do) offer merch if you ordered and sent in your cable bill.
expanding into new markets means more streams
With the new territories that the UFC is starting to reach I only see the number of streams popping up getting bigger. It’s only going to get worse for them…and better for the internet!
yay new markets!
