UFC 110: Cain Velasquez has too much respect for Big Nog
Props: Nocaute (written version)
Quoteworthy:
"It's going to be a tough fight. Minotauro is one of the best. He is always hard and you can never underestimate him. Even while he is losing, always finds a way to invert the situation and finish the bout. I have too much respect for him. I watched The Ultimate Fighter in which he was one of the coaches and I respect him as a person and for the legend he is in this sport."
Rising undefeated heavyweight prospect Cain will face the hardest challenge of his young career at UFC 110 on Feb. 22, 2010, when he headlines the pay-per-view (PPV) event in Australia against Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira. The 27- year-old former collegiate wrestling standout will take on the much more experienced and submission-savvy mixed martial arts veteran in a clash that could signal a shift from the old guard to the new with a Velasquez victory. Can the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) product dig deep and find a way to win or is "Big Nog" just to crafty and seasoned for him to handle at this stage of his career?

Couldn't have said it better myself, WOW
There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris
The word I've heard is
Mir/Carwin for interim title…I don’t know about this…Why crown an interim champ…IMO, another 4 man tourney is needed while we wait for Brock…Carwin/Mir and Cain/NOG with the winners fighting for a title shot…
EXTREMELY nice cans…we need a closer look at those
~
i like the sounds of that mcarthur..

agreed. No interim needed. Brock will not be out for that long.
Overeem on the other hand well thats a different story.
then there should be time...NOG/Cain and Mir/Carwin in Feb, March or April, then the winners in mid summer followed by Brock vs ???? in the fall
The mini-tourney is already in place. If they were to have one it would involve Mir, Barney, Nog and Brown Pride. Then the two winners fight each other either for a fake belt or the No. 1 contender to Brock’s real title. Basically the same thing, since the mini-tourney interim champ would have to fight The Brockness anyway to unify the fake belt and the real one.
Good times and riches and son of a bitches
I've seen more than I can recall.

im glad nog decided to have another fight.. no need to wait around for the brockness to get well.. keep busy and tear up some of the new up and comers that everyones hyping..
brock will be back one day to hand over that gold to nog..
imo- nog takes this fight in the first round..
maybe not first rnd but I agree stink
Cain can’t seem to bust a grape and we all know what NOG’s chin is like…I’d be pullin for NOG and hopin Cain thinks he can stand and trade…
~
i’ll even go out and say 1st rnd [t]ko.. nog seems extremly focused at this point in his career.. you can see it in his eyes..
imo- this is nogs time..

keep dreaming
He couldn’t finish randy so you think he will finish cain, Cain will have his way with nog.
Randy's a lot tougher and more experienced than Cain.
He was evading submissions before Cain could spell “Brown Pride”.
This should be a great fight
This will be the first time that Nog has fought a quality wrestler in the UFC so it’ll be interesting to see how he can deal with wrestlers at this stage of his career and whether or not Cain plans to take Big Nog down (always risky against someone with a guard as great as Nog’s) or box with him. Cain doesn’t have great power in his hands but Nog doesn’t have great defence so it’s going to be tough to call. Cain is a lot better than most people give him credit for and Nog proved all of the critics wrong in his last fight, so whoever wins will be a worthy contender for the belt, along with JDS if he can smash Yvel, and far more worthy than Carwin or Mir.
"I’m in great shape...I feel 100% you know it’s nice to move my hips and not have any problems...I’ll take my loss as a man. I’m willing to die for my cause, are you?" Tito Ortiz before UFC 106
"I wasn’t able to spar at all...I had bulging disks...I want to see somebody fight with a cracked skull, I came in and stepped in with a cracked skull...why the fuck did you give that fight of the night?...for me not getting Fight of the Night I’m taken aback by it...I gave my heart and soul and to be robbed like that, yeah it is what it is." Tito Ortiz after UFC 106
Hmm

Well Duh!
From Cain:
“Well, he’s Brown and I’m Brown, so naturally I take great pride in Nog and respect him because both our skin colors are alike. Totally not a racist stance though!”
Finally get to see the overrated hype machine fight someone worth while. If he man handles Nog I will definitely be singing a different tune about the overrated part.
It will be interesting NOG has battled another great MMA wrestler in Barnett and had a couple good fights
Cain may be more athletic than Barnett but lacks the JJ skills and striking power that barnett has he will have to control NOG for three rounds to get a win I can’t see that happening either NOG is in great shape and should pull this one off.
I expect a gr8 fight!
Big Nog is 1 of the best & 1 of my all time fav’s but i think Cain is guna take this 1. His ground & pound reminds of fedor minus the crazy power that fedor has
Legend Aura Wins Fights
Time and time again we see better fighters lose because they respect their opponent to much. This is one of the major reasons Randy wins his fights (Gonzaga, Sylvia and Vera). I will be at 110 and I hope Cain comes out swinging.
Damn
I keep coming back to look at those cans…I’m obsessed!
It is not enough to succeed. Others must fail.
