A last-minute plea to help the family of Charles 'Mask' Lewis Jr.

Hello Everyone,
My name is "Kaya," Carla D. Lewis, sister of Charles David Lewis Jr., aka "Mask." I hope you wont mind me sharing with you what is happening in the criminal trial concerning the 51 year old, multiple DUI offender, Jeffrey David Kirby, court case number 09HF0445.
As most of you are aware, (maybe not), this man is accused of killing my little brother, Mask. I have been attending the criminal proceedings since the death of Charles, with my two childhood friends, and MADD, all of these months.
We will return to Criminal Court on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, room C-5 at 1:30 p.m. The address of the court house is 700 W. Civic Center Dr. Santa Ana. California. There is still time for people to attend court and express their views to the judge. The defendants attorney hopes to be in a position to offer the court a plea, requesting a lighter sentence for Mr. Kirby. I, and my brothers attorney, Jason Baez, believe Kirby should have to stand trial before a jury of his peers, hearing the facts, before a sentence is decided.
I am pleading with all MMA/UFC fighters, fans and friends to please send a "Victim Impact Statement" letting the court know, how much my brother meant to you and/or the MMA world. You may also email my brothers attorney; Deputy District Attorney, Jason Baez at jason.baez@da.ocgov.com.
Again, please forgive me for using this space to talk about my brother. I don't know where to turn and I refuse to believe Mask has been forgotten. I'm not quite accustom to BLOGGING and all, and pray you will understand me using this opportunity to reach out to you.

multiple DUI offender....
Guys – I don’t pretend to know Mask more than any MMA fan from Canada does.
I have also lost 3 friends at different times to DUI drivers. One in grade 9, one in grade 12 and one friend 2 years ago.
If this Jefferey David Kirby is guilty of reoffending multiple times and in the process taking away such a postive being like Charles then I say show some support.
As a society we get what we put into it and deserve what we get.

Multiple DWIs and now with a fatality should result in a pretty long prison sentence, but it happened in California, so who knows. I would say that bastard is lucky he didn’t do this in Texas, but unfortunately we’re pretty lax on repeat DWI offenders here too.

CA does do some ass backwards things but I’d be surprised if they made the wrong call here. CA has cracked down a lot on street racing over the years and especially drunk driving. With the mixture of the two, this should be a slam dunk.
I’m sure plenty in the media are watching as well. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, the mob loves stories when the state makes the wrong call.
Ya we are real hard about that shit, my friend when he was 20 was driving home the NEXT DAY and got a DUI because he smelled like booze. Another friend just lost his licnese for a year due to a DUI, he was a block from his house. They will get this dude (hopefully) BTW I live on the otherside of the wall where he was killed. RIP
