Matt Hughes may return to the Octagon on April 10

Matt_hughes_medium

According to the former welterweight champion on his official website:

"I have a possible date for my next fight, they tell me that it is April 10th. I’ll tell you later who and where when I find out for sure if it is confirmed."

Will it be against Renzo Gracie?

Hughes was adamant about making one last run in the UFC 170-pound division — though he wasn't chomping at the bit to throw leather with up-and-coming stars like Josh Koscheck or Mike Swick, who did their best to call out the fighting farmhand.

Following his unanimous decision win over Matt Serra at UFC 98: "Evans vs. Machida," the future Hall of Famer signed a four-fight contract that will likely keep him in the Octagon for the remainder of his career.

While he may not compete long enough to satisfy all four fights, he has indicated that his only desire is to face opponents that he finds interesting, like his 2006 scrap against UFC pioneer Royce Gracie.

Stay tuned.

NEVER GONNA BE RELEVANT AGAIN!

but a nostalgic part of me would still like to see him fight hallman and trigg again.f*ck knows why!!lol

Would love to see that Renzo fight

He knows he isn’t a factor in the title picture anymore. Don’t blame him for looking for interesting matchups. That Hallman fight could be very satisfying

Renzo

I also would love to see that fight.

Nothing wrong with some old-school veterans fighting one another.

Not every fight has to be for future title contention, IMO…….just entertain.

I’d also like to see Tito/Couture II for the same reasons. If Tito beat Forrest, it would already be booked IMO. Stupid Tito.

i'd like to c randy n ace

And as for Hughes by all means let him fight some oldies too, but we gotta stop including stuff like “one more run at the title”. That’s not happening.

Just let em throw some decent fights on that’ll draw some ppv attention.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, who cares. Matt Hughes is old school, not to mention he is a total prick to boot. Zero intrest in watching him fight other washed up fighters (thats what he wants right, not to fight anyone new or up & coming). Dana listen closely, I have been watching and paying for UFC PPV’s since UFC 1. Matt Hughes isnt happening for guys like me. If he is a main event i wont pay for it. Matt Hughes is a fucking jerk . I would love to see Kos beat the crap out of him but because Matt knows that will happen, he wont fight him………….what a bitch!!!!!!!!

Renzo "washed up?"

I wouldn’t say Renzo is “washed up”.

Why do you say that?

Kramer - George, you have room in the car for the pigman right?

George – No I don’t have room for the Pigman!

Kramer – The Pigman Man would have room for you George.

George – Oh ya?! Well, what if I only had a 2-seater?

Kramer – C’mon George. Be realistic

People should plunk down two thousand dollars to live like him for a week. Do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbours, and have sex without dating. That’s a fantasy camp.

You know Darren, if you would have told me twenty-five years ago that some day I’d be standing here about to solve the world’s energy problems, I would’ve said you’re crazy… Now let’s push this giant ball of oil out the window.

Kramer: The haunting memories of lost love. May I? (signals to Mickey)
Lights? (Mickey turns down the lights and Kramer lights a cigar) Our eyes met
across the crowded hat store. I, a customer, and she a coquettish haberdasher.
Oh, I pursued and she withdrew, then she pursued and I withdrew, and so we
danced. I burned for her, much like the burning during urination that I would
experience soon afterwards.
