Love watching Mir get pummeled
people talk shit about Brock trash talking Mir but forget that Mir is a dick himself. He was a cocky bastard on the Ultimate Fighter show. But unfortunately Kongo is going to get schooled on the ground. Mir by submission in the second round.

Yes and No
Yes Mir is a punk trashtalker who never shuts up
No he wont sub Kongo, he will take one shot from Kongo and quit.

He didn’t quit when Brock was on his head like a 5-year-od with a bongo. Kongo is going to do something really rocket sciencey, like knock Mir down and try to GnP him and end up leaving the fight with one less arm than he had when he started.
I'm kind of a big deal.

I'm undecided on this fight
Even though Mir sucks, Kongo isn’t much better. I want Kongo to win and am leaning toward a Kongo decision.

Mir quit as soon as Brock hit him with that first shot.
A BJJ blackbelt doesn’t lock himself into halfguard when someone is laying on top of him smashing him. You could clearly see that he wouldn’t let go of that damn figure four on brock’s leg. He could have tried to move the outer leg inside to establish a butterfly guard or work a sweep but he just clamped down.
That said Mir’s wrestling sucks horribly. He just bends over at the waist and runs at guys. Even if he clinches on him, Cheick’s brute force should nullify the limited technique that mir brings. i see Kongo teeing off on him. Hopefully he can get some nut shots in. Kongo TKO rd 2 after a close scare in rd 1 during the gnp after Mir gets dropped.

Finally someone who knows what he's talking about.
Great post NNR.
I can’t believe that Murr fans can’t realize that he doesn’t put peoples on their back. Mir wrestling sucks so bad that it’s not even funny. His shoots for double legs are terrible, plus I never seen him put someone down with a single leg either and he is a weak fn prick. The guy "improved"stand up is laughable with his same 1-2 ,uppercut combos, with no foot work at all. To topple that pop-tart that he is …he doesn’t have great Jits. The guy never won a goddamn world BJJ title in his entire life. He never participated at the ADCC once or in NO-GI and yet stupid f like Drisdale are still convinced that he’s the best submission artist on the planet….lmao. Murr ain’t a grappler, he’s getting out grappled by almost anyone and he fold when he get’s hit. We saw it against Pe De Pano, Vera, Brock (twice)and got out grappled also by Big Country. I’m too lazy to go check at other fights, but I’m certain that I’m missing some others too. Mir got GnP, lol….when was the last time that he used it? Murr ain’t gonna do what Velasques, Marello or Herring did to Kongo b/c he got no wrestling and he can’t grapple for shit. Kongo never been submitted and it’s not a weak ass Mir with his McDojo BJJ Black Belt that gonna succeed to be the first. The only way that I see “pea brain” kongo losing is by finding an original stupid way to put himself in trouble and somehow believing that he’s doing the right thing…kinda like his last fight.
That said… even if Murr pull off a miracle and get his hand raise after the fight, he ain’t gonna talk shit for long b/c all the others top 5 HW are good wrestlers, good grapplers or are BJJ champion. Plus they are way stronger than he is. Good luck Frank you will need it to save your career and for keeping your delusional fans.

I agree
Brock tok a lot of heat fro talking shit to Mir after he won. I guess most of Brock’s critics didn’t see the countdown special or Mir’s pre-fight interviews. Dude is an arrogant prick straight up. I hope Kongo knocks his ass out quick or can keep it on the feet because on the ground Kongo is dead money.

I'm a Mir Fan
and I dont even know where this hate is coming from. I would guess all you haters are either Nog fans or Lesner fans huh? Either way Frank is going to send the heavyweight Bore factor packing. Kongo is even more boring in an interview than in the cage!

Mir is nothing more than a flapping fucking bag of hot air
everything he says is dripping with smugness. Why is it inappropriate for Lesnar to tell him to fuck himself, but it’s ok for Mir to talk shit and berate Brock for months up to the fight. Why is it ok to say he wants to rip the skin off of his face? Why is it ok for him to say he wants to end Brocks career?
My dislike for Mir started when he was on TUF, before that I thought he was pretty cool. Watching him act the way make me do a complete 180. I hope your beloved Mir thinks he can stand with Kongo, cuz that’s gonna be fun to watch!

I don’t know if you’ve heard this, but I’m quite the Brock fan, and I don’t hate Mir. He ran his mouth and got what he had coming to him, but it’s done. I hate Kongo for being an idiot and letting that win over Brown Pride get away.
I'm kind of a big deal.

kongo by death
I have no doubt that kongo knocks Mir out!! Kongo has only trouble against wrestlers and mir is no wreslter! the fight starts on the feet and that a 100% advantage to kongo, it finishes with the first flurry of punches and mir will be OUT COLD!!!!!
by the real mo on Nov 29, 2009 11:55 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Mir may be a prick but most likely he is going to school Kongo.
There are a a lot of fans I see judging Mir’s talent by his mouth and thats all fine and dandy, but his mouth is not the one fighting Kongo and if you judge Mir by what he does in the octagon as well Kongo, there is no way intelligently you have Kongo over Mir. Yes Kongo stand up is better( thoought by many as the best striker) but thats it! Mir has improved his stand up enought that Kongo will not have a huge advantage and in all other phases where the fight may take place Mir has it hands down.

Sleeping with the fishes
Kongo is going to make Mir an offer he can’t refuse.
Kongo – “Just Business” I like that
I think Mir takes this fight though. I think he will hold his own standing, and take him down at will. and go for the submission.

I really hope...
that Kongo rips him apart!

Amazed how a hate on for Mir can cloud reality
I can appreciate your hating on Frank, guys a dick. However, he’s the first one to say “he beat the crap outta me” after a fight and ala Tito doesn’t make excuses.
For this fight though, hate him all you want but saying Kongo comes away with a win is simply retarded. Mir has shown he can take abuse in several fights and that means he’ll be able to withstand a few shots on his way to getting Kongo down. That’s all it takes, once they’re on the mat Cheick isn’t getting up. Did no-one watch the Cain fight?? Mir’s ground/submission is light years past Valasquez and Cain didn’t have a problem making Kongo look silly.
Kongo rips him apart? Really?

eventually...
1st, 2nd, or 3rd round; eventually this will be on the ground and Mir will likely get some kind of sub from there.
formerly JB, trying to figure out this whole new SB deal. oh, and another thing; i'm not impressed by your performance.

First of all
I said that I “hope” he rips Mir apart. I’m not sure if he will. And now Mir is talking crap about Lesnar (yet) again. I guess you can give Mir credit for not learning his lesson. I really HOPE that Kongo whips his ass!

He what???
What the hell is he saying about Lesnar now? Even in whatever condition he’s in, Brock still whips his ass.
I'm kind of a big deal.

difference is
cain and mirs ground games are completely different, cains got great takedowns and gnp mir hasnt got great wrestling but can fin the fight once it gets there, so comparing there ground games is like comparing andersons stand up to tito

Mir is an ass but....
Seriously people Kongo has a hard time staying on his feet. Mir will pull guard and submit Kongo pretty easily.
That said he is an ass and I can watch Lesnar destroy him over and over. I do enjoy watching the prefight stuff from 100 and then watching Lesnar maul him. I did not like the wife comments and the sponsor dissing that Lesnar did after 100 but telling Frank off was so well deserved and appropriate. Afterwards Mir was like “My kids were watching”, “I told my kids that isnt how to act”.. Did your kids hear what you were saying before hand?

Mir will be happy about the DVD cut then
Damn Zuffa edited out the Coors Light comment from Brock as well as Hendo’s boasting about “shutting up” Bisping with the extra elbow, it’s bad enough that DVD viewers miss out on the entrances because of the music copyright issues (even when they show the entrances they dub the music with generic rock and ©rap) but to take out the most controversial part of the show makes me feel cheated as a consumer. Pride DVDs are a lot more professionally edited and produced in my opinion, despite being made years ago.

Mir easily wins
People’s hate for Mir is getting in the way of common sense. Mir will have no trouble subbing Kongo and he will beat big nog’s ass again when they fight again and hopefully that will finally shut up the moronic haters.
by mma guru on Nov 29, 2009 6:09 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
or.....
Mir will get KTFO by Kongo, and will face a healthy Big Nog so we can all see how the first fight should have gone. That will hopefully shut up the moronic nut huggers.
by soadtrails on Nov 29, 2009 6:16 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
typical mir hater
I’m not a nuthugger of Mir I just don’t let my dislike for a fighter get in the way of what will actually happen unlike you. Have you ever seen Kongo fight before, this will be an easy submission victory for mir and have you seen big nog fights since mir destroyed him? He still has no head movement and mir will put him on his ass again.
by mma guru on Nov 29, 2009 10:24 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
oh I agree that Mir is dangerous at submissions
I’ve never taken from him the fact that he has skills. You’re the one who came in with a stupid ass comment, and continued it in your response. I have seen Kongo fight before, and if you don’t think he’s dangerous on his feet then I don’t know what to tell you. If you think that Mir can stand with Kongo I don’t know what to tell you either. If you don’t think that Nog looked out of form for his Mir fight then I still don’t know what to tell you.
Mir has two choices to get the fight to the ground, try to pull guard or get knocked down and hope that Kongo follows him with reckless abandon. Mir is not a good wrestler so I don’t see any awesome takedowns coming from him.
There’s a difference in hoping what will happen, and knowing what could happen. I suggest you learn it. It is a very real possibility the fight ending in a sub. At the same time it could also end up in Mir taking a nap. I HOPE for the latter. You see only one possible way the fight ends, I see two.
by soadtrails on Nov 29, 2009 11:57 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I know the difference
I do know the difference, I know whats gonna happen and you hope Kongo will win. Its not like you have to be a good wrestler to get Kongo to the ground look what herring did to him and he did it with relative ease. Look at big nogs fights since the mir ass kicking, he still has no head movement and is still slow as hell, mir will lay a whoopin on him again.
