Lyoto Machida reaffirms he beat Shogun; Will never fight Anderson Silva and Minotauro Nogueira
Lyoto Machida honored his fans today during a live chat at Brazilian RedeTV, answering many questions about his career, Shogun, Anderson Silva and Rogerio Nogueira.
Machida says he is just doing aerobic workouts because the surgery he underwent after the first encounter with Mauricio Rua at UFC 104, when he successfully defended his belt. Questioned about the controversial result against countrymate Mauricio Rua, he said:
"I think I was superior from round one to four actually trying to finish the fight and I slightly lost the fifth round."
Vitor Belfort returned to the UFC with a stunning knock out over Rich Franklin at UFC 103, and since then, has been claimed as the next contender to middleweight title. "The Dragon" remarked:
"... his performance was brilliant, but it’s important to understand that in this sport each presentation has its own peculiarity."
All the people who attend MMA events and even UFC president Dana White wish a clash among Lyoto and middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Machida refutes facing "The Spider," but hints he would go up to the heavyweight division in the future:
"We won’t fight because we’re friends, hang out, go dinner and do many things together. I want to defend the belt some times and after that, make a personal challenge to test my potential. But it’s a thought for the future. Who knows I will be the heavyweight champion one day?"
Back to the controversial outcome of the fight versus Mauricio Shogun, the light heavyweight champion was asked why mostly people thought Rua won the bout and the answer was:
“I think the most part of the people thought I won. Only the MMA forums insist on all of this controversy."
About the discussed combat between Anderson and Vitor Belfort, the karateca commented:
“Their fight isn’t confirmed. It seems Anderson will fight only in April because of his elbow. They’re great fighters and it’s hard to say who would win."
Lyoto Machida ends up the interview afirming he won’t square off Rogerio Nogueira either because of their friendship:
“Let’s fight other guys."

Wow, he’s saying Anderson isn’t read ’till April.
That seriously sucks if true, and screws yet another card (109).
"Cowards die many times before their deaths,
The valiant never taste of death but once."
Julius Caesar (II, ii, 32-37)
True
But what about that he doesn’t want to fight AS or Lil Nog. Nog won’t fight Dos Santos either. Man, those Black House guys start to look like AKA. And that goes w/o saying all the fighters that Ed Soares doesn’t want his clients to fight.
No spider till april?
The fedor curse continues…

what a priss
Seriously Machida get over your Paris Hilton moment hike your skirt up and prove me wrong. Beat Shogun convincingly then whoever shows on the radar then talk. No one holds that belt for long it seems since chuck had it. On a side note with Couture and Coleman in the works this will be the first time in Randy’s career with the ufc he has fought 3 non title fights in a row. Bout time!
