I cannot wait for this fight

I think BJ will win, but It wouldn’t bother me if Diego won.

Cannot wait… This whole card is good.

No shit talk from BJ? Maybe just a little. BJ all the way in this fight although I am a nightmare fan, he can have the belt after BJ retires.

Gouveia vs Belcher is on the undercard right? That is a crime. They better show the prelims on Spike.

Good card, but think how much better it would have been with Alves/Fitch 2 and Duffee/Buentello on it. Oh well.

I think BJ will win

I hope he goes in there with a flurry and is super aggressive. That would be pretty cool to see.

2nd try....

“I’ll tell you right now, the game plan for B.J. Penn is to kick his ass and that’s it. I’ve never been more hungry, and I’m at my true weight at 155. I feel it’s my time. This fight couldn’t be a better match-up for me. Everybody knows my strength is my conditioning and his biggest weakness has always been his conditioning. That makes a bad match-up for B.J. right off the bat. I know he’s concerned because I feel I’m B.J.‘s kryptonite. I’m happy he’s coming into the fight as the best B.J., and I really do feel he will be the best B.J. There is no game plan. I’m the king of the cage and when he steps in there, he steps into my cage. B.J. ain’t going to have no excuse of greasing because I’m not a greaser. I’m a natural sweaty guy, man. There’s gonna be some sweat, it’s gonna be slippery. I’m going to be dropping some ground-and-pound.” – Diego Sanchez

oh lawd!

This is the best possible fight bj can get inside the ufc unless they start signing more lightweights..bj would ko aoki, rnc alvarez…man..i have no idea what is next after bj demolishes sanchez. ideas anyone?

Hughes 3 . . .

Im sure there a few more LTWTs that are worth sticking around the 155 fc division but the fight im looking forward to would have to be hughes 3 for the possible options right now. Lots of other fights to but as a penn fan you gotta want that one.

questionable.

aldo hasn’t fought any really good fighters besides brown (to my knowledge) and they’re both nova uniao. he does belong in the ufc though..that i can agree on.

Can BJ do 5 rounds?

…at Diegos pace?

He has still looked tired at the end of his fights even if he won them.

Diego has sick cardio. His pace is right there with Monkey Humper.

Strengths:

Standup – BJ
Ground – BJ
Cardio – Diego

Can diego do 5 rounds at diegos pace . . ?

i just dont see anything diego has over bj that would allow him to win this….

other than his crazy nonstop pace thats it….

hes not gonna win a boxing match with bj…and diego LOVES to take people down and gnp them….but we all saw how much success kenflo had with taking bj down….and matt hughes too for the first 2 rounds….diego aint taking that fucker down…..and if he does wtf is he gonna do to bj in his guard? submit him? ye ok

jake shields is the highest ranked fighter to have never fought i highly ranked fighter...i cant wait till hendo signs to strikeforce and murders that talentless waste of flesh

i hope diego comes out penn just like he did vs guida.

it would be a short night for the nightmare. b.j. penn by submission in second round. i just hope the moneyline is not too big.

yes i am obsessive, obnoxious, in your face and all about covering the spread. those are my good qualities.

Some of you guys crack me up.

Dont you realize this is a sport tailor made for upsets. Its funny how much you guys underestimate a lot of the underdogs in fights they wind up beating the favorites at there own game.EVERYBODY counted Evans out against Chuck, and what happened in the 2nd round.Everybody counted Serra out against the Super Canadian, look what happened in the first round.EVERYBODY thought Hughes vs. St. Pierre 3 was gonna be an all out war, nobody expected GSP to dominate the most dominate wrestler in UFC history at his own game. And the list goes on…this is just another opportunity for an upset and Diego matches up with Penn alot better on the ground and Standing than you guys give him credit for.Sanchez has a granite chin,Kos couldnt even knock him out with clean shots when diego had Staph at 170.lol.How tough do you think hes going to be when hes even 70%,If Penn cant hurt Diego on the feet hes gonna have a bad night…and I guarantee you, either in the first or 2nd round no later you’ll see penn really get hurt on the feet for the first time.Remember these words.

i believe in upsets to i had aldo, saunders, hardy and evans vs liddell but not diego

here are my problems with diego. he has dropped form middleweight on the tuf show to welterweight. then he got his ass kicked by koscheck/fitch and he knew he would never get a shot at the title so he comes down to lightweight. he has that fake as hell i’m going to break your face but i think he only has 1or 2 knockouts in his ufc career. he always thanks god when he wins and does it so often it’s sickening and funny at the same time. diego is going to have to have to pray 48 hours straight to have a chance vs penn. penn submits him and i’ll bet the nightmare taps as fast as roseanne can devour one peice of chicken. penn submission in late 2nd round . count on it and i will bet on it in lake tahoe. peace.

yes i am obsessive, obnoxious, in your face and all about covering the spread. those are my good qualities.

Amen brother

Your right, upsets happen on every card and some are real shockers…serra/gsp, I still scratch my head over that one. No offense to serra or his fans but thats the purest definition of punchers chance I’ve seen in MMA. Then in the very next card cro cop gets ko’d by gonzaga with a head kick, that was a majorly f-ed up month, april 2007. Shogun mauling the almost unhitable machida really surprised me, seriously by now we should be ready for anything, diego might win a decision, a very real possibility as he is a cardio freak. Bj ko’ing diego can happen, and vice versa, the great thing about mma is its so unpredictable.

Diego has what it takes

Diego will probably be one of the few fighters who will not let BJ fight at his own pace. Nearly all apart from GSP, have really not pressured BJ at all. Diego may not have the same tools as BJ, but he does have the tools to beat him, he is one of the most focused fighters out there who has neve been close to being knocked out or submitted. Koscheck took him to a descision when he was only 50% no shame in that, and he went the distance with Fitch who was much bigger than he was, in a fight that he asked for when everybody else was ducking Fitch, no shame in that. I have always backed Diego from the very begining, and am also a fan of BJ. It is not that difficult for me to see Diegos hand raised at the end of this one, and it wouldn’t bother me if it was. Hopefully it will be as good as people are expecting.
I actually picked Jardine as well as Rashad to beat Chuck, purely because of fighting styles, I didn’t really see them as upsets, although if Rashad stops going for takedowns or using his wrestling anymore, I would be less likely to pick him for the win.

BJ is going to take this even though it would be nice for Sanchez to win. They don’t call him “The Prodigy” for nothing hehe.
