In the 1990s, Randy Gordon, as executive director of the New York State Athletic Commission helped institute the ban on MMA in New York. Last week in the New York Daily News, Randy Gordon makes the strong case for why MMA should now be regulated and legal in New York.
As Randy writes, "But the sport we banned in the mid-'90s has virtually nothing in common with the MMA of 2009. Given its remarkable evolution, it's time we welcomed MMA to New York - so we can enjoy and profit from this fast-growing entertainment."
Momentum is building to bring MMA to New York State! Please join the thousands of New Yorkers at MMAFacts.com who have called, written or emailed their State Senators and Assembly members and asked them to bring MMA to NY.
Randy Gordon has seen the light, and now it's time for New York's current elected officials to realize how popular and mainstream MMA has become. Please email your representatives and urge them to vote on bill # A2009/S2165, which would legalize MMA in New York State.
