Lesnar camp: Stop laughing -- Brock will be back in the cage in six months
Props: TMZ.com
Quoteworthy:
"I can just say that the (UFC) heavyweights can stop laughing and get ready to start crying because the champion will be back soon ... [Lesnar] is getting better and that is the most important thing ... He will be fine and be fighting again within 6 months."
Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros, 7-time World Jiu-Jitsu champ and grappling coach for UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, is downplaying the recent comments made by Dana White that his star pupil may never fight again -- even going one step further and claiming he'll be defending his title within six months. If accurate, what does the UFC do with the 265-pound division in the "Interim?"

nice guy? Great fighter?
he always seemed pretty odd to me, kind of a lunatic.
he’s only ever had 5 fights and he lost 1 of them, and none of them were against guys really in their prime, fact is even though he has the belt, he is relatively un tested.
In the name of the Fedor, the Anderson and the GSP, Amen.

That still puts the HW title on the line till MAY. thats too long. Titles should be defended at least 2 times a year, regardless of champion injury. Brock and GSP fighting in July, and then not again till April is killing it. When’s the last time Anderson defended his 185lb title? UFC 97?? And the LW belt was tied up for the longest time from 84 to 101. Seems like the 205 strap is the only one that is defended.
I could care less the “worth” of the interim belt. GSP and Nogueria have both been interim champions so its not like the interim champ is just a farce. If the champ can’t defend his belt, then he should either be stripped and given a title shot in his first fight back, or an interim made. That way the divisions keep moving along and we get to see these 5 rounders.
Do you guys realize that since from UFC 100 to the end of the year (including 108, which is normally the NYE event) we have only had 5 title fights? 102, 103, 105, 106, 108, maybe even 109 will be non-title main events.

Funny, I haven't heard any UFC HWs "laughing" at Lesnar's condition.
That’s a hell of a confrontational way to spin this. There has been nothing but concern and best wishes exhibited by the HWs I’ve seen comment on it. Sure, some of them may be privately glad he might not be able to continue fighting, but nobody has said that.
Lesnar’s camp should show a little class and thank his fellow fighters and the MMA media/community in general for their best wishes and support. Then again, class has always been something found in very short supply around Brock and his team.
And just because Brock’s people say he will be fighting again in six months, doesn’t make that statement any more accurate than the ones pronouncing his career to be over. I would be absolutely flabbergasted to see him in the cage in six months. They simply don’t know for sure whether the illness will strike again (it usually recurs), or how long it will take Brock to recover and return to fighting shape/mass.
I really hope he comes back soon, but I’m not counting on it. I would wait a couple of months to see what kind of timetable he’s looking at before I started booking any interim title fights, but if he’s out for anywhere close to a year (I’ll lay a wager he will be), they better do it.
