If I were Randy

I’d sue Kim to have her change her last name.

Besides her last name

when i was watching the fight, if realized Kim had a “little” Couture in her ;)

LOL

You should go to her website. It’s such BS, it’s quite hilarious. And there are so many comments ripping her for being a whore lol

chick fights suck

well 95% of em anyways…it’s just not as exciting and it looks wrong in a way..unless there is mud or oil or bikinis..and this is being said by a woman..lol

you know why i think thats weird?

because your name is sarah. and here, i was about to call you a sexist male.

to the death, georges.

I like Chick Fights.

Sarah, I for one like a good chick fight, unfortunately there’s very few good chick fights, even though some of them have it physically and mentally, very few women have it technically. I expect it to be a slow a painful growth but eventually women’s MMA will be somewhat respected as the level of competition gets better.

I think I love that girl

Sarah, will you marry me?

by iagoof22 on Nov 21, 2009 2:13 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I don’t want to be a dick, but I doubt she would love to marry a guy in your condition, goof.

uhhh thanks?? but last time i checked this is NOT a dating site

i’m here to read about and comment (albeit mostly sarcastically) on the fights and fighters…

And you think he was serious? Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. No wait, he probably really DID want to marry you after reading your comment and realizing you had a female screen name. Good call.

Calm down

Alright, everyone relax. It was just a joke. She is a woman that would rather see female fighters figtht in mud or oil and in their bikini’s. That’s my kind of girl.

No

I think Kerry actually did some damage.

by jay. on Nov 21, 2009 9:37 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Brandon did way more damage to Randy than Randy did to Brandon, unless callouses count for more than busted ribs.

I'm kind of a big deal.

by P-Dub on Nov 21, 2009 10:05 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Of course she actually finished her fight.

Perhaps if Brandon did enough damage to finish his fight he would have won.

Maybe he wife should have fought Randy, she seems to have a killer instinct he lacks.

I bet she’s on top. What choice would she have, she couldn’t possibly leave it up to him to finish.

Brandon can learn a thing or two from his wife...

She was like the polar opposite of him in there. She actually attacked!

Must of been a quick night

More than half of the fights ended in the first round. I guess it was great card for fans barely getting into the sport and want to see fights end quick.

109 starting to look better

Gsp v. Hardy and Nate v. Sonnen possibly

by MMACHAMP on Nov 21, 2009 10:50 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Didn’t Vitor say he was fighting at 109? If he is not fighting Anderson he should be fighting Nate. Weak… Sonnen will get destroyed.

by BNF on Nov 21, 2009 12:15 PM EST via mobile up reply actions   0 recs

I’m always up for watching GSP fight, but Hardy poses absolutely no threat to GSP whatsoever. That’s not to blame Hardy though, that simply makes him just like every other welterweight in the world. GSP literally has no competition at WW. Now Nate vs Sonnen, that will be an awesome fight.

by kg12 on Nov 21, 2009 10:54 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Sonnen is horrible.

Sonnen would get KTFO’d, his stand up is absolutely horrendous.. He has no skill what so ever, he leans to his right so hard I’m just waiting for someone to step in and crack him with a straight right… Just hasn’t happened yet because a lot of UFC strikers suck, Nate will be able to pull it off though, I believe in him. Sonnen is shit, will never be a champ, will never be relevant, next.

by BlaiseBlaise on Nov 21, 2009 2:05 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

thats what she gets!!!

she shouldnt be trying to make her name off what someone else worked so hard for. plus she sucks as a fighter!!!

by joe daddy on Nov 21, 2009 12:44 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Huh?

I’m no Kim Couture fan (actually can’t stand her)…..but, to insinuate that she married Randy Couture to “make her name off what someone else worked for” is just stupid.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Kramer thinks that the old couple at the shoe store moved into the neighbourhood, started their business, established trust for 15 years……just so they could run of with Jerry’s sneakers.

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, they married because they loved one another? Just a thought lol.

You kept making all the stops?

Well people kept ringing the bell !!!!!!

by introvert on Nov 21, 2009 2:49 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I dont read where he said that’s why she married Randy.
With that being said, why do you think she is keeping the last name?

Anyone who gets divorced but keeps their famous partners surname is looking to cash in in my opinion, if her surname was not Couture then this fight wouldn’t have happened as Kerry is much more talented. Why else would it have taken place a week after Randy-Brandon? Kim should stick to fighting wrestlers like Tara from TNA from now on.

by David W-S on Nov 21, 2009 3:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Or not fight at all

She is an amateur at best.

@fjbar75 on twitter...formerly El Mexicutioner

by _Felix_ on Nov 21, 2009 3:24 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

True that, Mexi.

They might got married because they loved each other at one time, but when you got a wife of a fighter that take care of his career, business, do his PR and then become a fighter b/c of him and his gym that she’s in charge of…you can bet that she got other intentions than just be his wife. She’s clearly a leech of fame and she tried to cash in on her opportunity.
That said… the fight was painful to watched. Women’s MMA sucks. They should do a league just for them. That way we wouldn’t be forced to watching them on a normal card and peoples that are interested, could go see them, or watching them, by choice not the other way around.

Divorced?

They seperated like 3 months ago.

Divorces take a lot longer than that.

You kept making all the stops?

Well people kept ringing the bell !!!!!!

by introvert on Nov 21, 2009 3:44 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Same thing

It’s still dodgy that she has herself billed as Kim Couture in a sport where the Couture name is one of the most well known in it’s history. If her ex was a nobody then she would not be having herself announced with his surname.

As for her fighting career I agree that she’s an amateur, so she might as well face other amateurs like Tara who supposedly wants to break into the sport, as that could make her some extra money without having her put in mismatches.

by David W-S on Nov 21, 2009 3:47 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

lmao

Seriously. If anyone “fringe” has any sort of involvment with anyone “legit” in the MMA world….you guys are like a pack of rabid dogs……it’s so strange.

The FACT is that nobody changes their name during the seperation period before a divorce….BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s not “dodgy”…….it’s normal.

If and when the divorce is finalized…….I’m sure she’ll go back to her maiden name. Until then, you guys are just being like rabid MMA dogs.

You kept making all the stops?

Well people kept ringing the bell !!!!!!

Randy has filed

So, if she keeps the name after the divorce is final, what would be her motive or reasoning? Use common sense now.

@fjbar75 on twitter...formerly El Mexicutioner

by _Felix_ on Nov 21, 2009 3:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

But it isn't final!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s my point!!!!!!!!!!!

When it’s final she legally has to change her name back!!!!!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE IT’S NOT HER NAME ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys wouldn’t know “common sense” if it hit you in tha ass.

No

your original point was this about joe daddy: "insinuate that she married Randy Couture to ‘make her name off what someone else worked for ’ ", which he in fact didn’t. I dont recall reading where he wrote that was her sole reason for marrying him.
Do you think it’s pure coincidence that after she married Randy she was given the opportunity to fight?
Ignorance must be bliss, hey intro?

@fjbar75 on twitter...formerly El Mexicutioner

by _Felix_ on Nov 21, 2009 4:07 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

actually she doesn't

When you get divorced you don’t have to change your name back unless it’s specifically stated in the divorce decree. my ex kept my last name and we divorced last oct. Kim has already stated in an interview that she kept her former ex’s last name when they got divorced. It’s up to Randy to state that he doesn’t want her to keep the name in the divorce proceedings and then it’s up to the judge to agree with him if she contests it.

by cheshirewulf on Nov 21, 2009 4:34 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

this is the reason hollywood couples don't change their names

sadly Kim started marketing herself as “kim couture” because she was married and probably didn’t think that what happened to Randy’s 2 previous wives would happen to her. She has her own fanbase started under that name. It might just be that it would be easier for her to keep the name once the divorce is final.

by cheshirewulf on Nov 21, 2009 4:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

They aren't divorced yet

Who changes their name back before the divorce is final?

I just like reading intro disagree with everyone

I can respect a reasonable opinion on topics, but his anti-social bitterness is pretty entertaining.

by _Felix_ on Nov 21, 2009 4:42 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

My opinion is the only reasonable one on this topic

I’m the only one saying she isn’t divorced yet, so what’s the big deal about not changing her name yet.

Anything other than that is speculation, accusation, and TMZ type crap.

You goof-offs could open the newspaper and read an article about a UFC fighter burning down an orphanage and you’d blame the orphans……..it’s f$cked up. Not one single story about a UFC fighter in any sort of negative situation is EVER the fault of the fighter, when you read the comment section on MMAMania. Sad but true.

I always bash fighters when they act like dicks outside of MMA and so does Mexi, take our bashing of Rampage for his criminal actions. However Kim seems to be the golddigger from this relationship and by making money out of her ex’s name and previous fight it seems pretty blatant to me. If she was serious about MMA then she wouldn’t need the Couture name to get a fight booked.

by David W-S on Nov 21, 2009 8:28 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Randy gave her the name

She didn’t take it lol…..it’s a two way street, David.

Don’t fret, dude…….I’m sure after their divorce is final, she’ll change her name, Randy will ask you and Mexi to marry him….then Randy, David, and Mexi Couture will have no more reason to be jealous of anyone else having Randy’s last name.

You kept making all the stops?

Randy’s a horny old man, he doesn’t know any better. He’s the Paul McCartney of MMA while Kim’s the Heather Mills. Boo to golddiggers yay to MMA legends.

David Couture, has a nice ring to it maybe I can make an MMA career for myself with Strikeforce Challengers, I could fight Ryan Shamrock that’ll get the ratings in.

I don't blame her

half as much as I blame Strikeforce for the fight. But I can’t really fault them for it. They saw a way to make money off of the UFC by riding their coattails so to speak so they booked and promoted a fight with the wives. Can you honestly tell me that Dana wouldn’t have done it if there was a women’s division in the UFC?

Did you see her first fight

She got mangled. Her face was alll bashed up. And again against Vera. She just isnt that good.

Anyone think that Kerry Vera is ready for Sarah Kaufman?

by chrisbboy82 on Nov 21, 2009 3:00 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Stylelistically I knew Couture was gonna get that behind Taxed

shes a stand up fighter with no power and no technical sound, shes more of a freestyle brawler if you ask me where as Kerrys a professional muay thai fighter with waaay better boxing.I love her hands and the angles she displays, she definantly moves like a legit Muay thai champ.Anybody seen girl fight when she was over in thailand taxing asse 2?Loved it.

Just a question

Aren’t all female fighters featherweights? Do they have a heavyweight division with Mrs. Butterbean?

by MMACHAMP on Nov 21, 2009 4:28 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

the cyborg/carano fight took place at 145. The Vera/Couture fight was 135

by cheshirewulf on Nov 21, 2009 4:39 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

they did call the vera/couture match a featherweight fight though

by cheshirewulf on Nov 21, 2009 4:44 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Kim Couture

The last name thing may vary state to state. But it’s pretty common for women to keep the last name after they divorce. In her case, I think she’ll keep the name just to keep her association to one of the biggest names in the business.

I just watched the fight on YT. Vera dominated the exchanges. She’s a real fighter. I don’t think Kim is.
