Dear Brock: Get well soon! Sincerely, Fedor

Fedor-dogs_medium

"I would like to wish my fellow fighter Brock Lesnar a good and fast recovery. It is always unfortunate when a fighter has to pull out of a fight because of an injury."

Top ranked (an oft-maligned) heavyweight wrecking ball Fedor Emelianenko extends his well wishes on TeamFedor.com after learning that current UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was forced to withdraw from his title defense against Shane Carwin due to a bacterial infection. "The Last Emperor" is often paired up with the pasty-face Goliath in a fantasy-matchmaking scenario despite the unlikelihood they'll ever compete against one another. Still, that hasn't stopped the WAMMA champ from hoping Lesnar gets back on the road to recovery and into the MMA spotlight once again.

(Thanks to Josh B. for the tip)

Very Cool Pic

Cool pic

Props to Fedor…..he’s a class act.

If it were the other way around and Fedor were sick, Dana would be on his twitter account calling him a “pussy” or something.

You kept making all the stops?

Well people kept ringing the bell !!!!!!

Right

Dude, Dana would be all over this like a fat kid on a smartie……you know it and I know it.

disagree

If Fedor was in the hospital with a disease, I doubt even Dana would be that inconsiderate to say something ignorant. Maybe for something minor but not something like this.

Come on Jay!

You defend Dana way too much!

Fedor is a class act, and if it were the other way around, you would never hear Dana or Brock say anything of this nature!

Props to Fedor for simply being a good human being!

He isn’t as bad as these guys make him out to be. And TRUE PROPS to Fedor.

Karo

You’re saying this a day after Dana “I really care about these guys” White publicly humiliated one of his own fighters!!!!!!

Wait a minute…….are you really jay?……..or Dana?

He had no reason to bash Karo?

The guy has been given way too many chances and continuosly screws up. Karo got what he asked for.

Karo deserved to be canned

I’ve never stated otherwise.

But, there’s a right way to can someone…..and public humiliation is not it.

“Tweeting” like a 12 year old girl who just got dumped by her boyfriend, to humiliate him, is utterly despicable.

Why do you care about what Dana tweets?

Do you care about what Rogan tweets? How about Ashton Kutcher? We know you don’t like Dana, what else do you got? The hate for Dana has been noted, no matter what he does you will complain. What more is there inside that head of yours?

Intro you never saw...

I doubt UFC HR dept is going to protect guys like Karo. It’s the heats own fault for acting unprofessional.

I dont feel for guys like Karo

When there are still great volumes of undiscovered talent working for $500 per fight and the flight to the arena cost them $700 that the promoter doesn’t cover in expenses.

At this level – he is a professional fighter – a regular MBA or PHd Judo consultant.

You don’t act this way when your tops in your field.

If he had manned up and cancelled the fight when he knew there was a problem, this would be a non-issue. He cancelled the day before the weigh-ins. That is a bitch move, no matter how you look at it. Depression didn’t make him do that, HE chose do do that.

And why did he even cancel? I still haven’t heard a straight answer…unless I missed a post or something.

by soadtrails on Nov 20, 2009 12:21 PM EST up reply actions

You're right

It was a bitch move….but a bitch move by someone who obviously has personal issues.

His licence was costing him $32 000 to be able to fight and he didn’t had the money to pay for it. He was getting 40 000 to show.
That’s what I heard.

by Alpha Male on Nov 20, 2009 12:28 PM EST up reply actions

Well

I truly do understand where you are coming from, I just don’t agree. I do wonder however if the UFC would be where it is today if Dana was not….well…Dana. Would the same success have been had if there was a boring mouthpiece for the sport?

I don’t really think so myself.

Dana is never going to change. He will always promote the UFC over any other org, if you piss him off he’ll lash back…just the way it is. I’m sure he reached the breaking point with all the fighter injuries and such….and blew up when karo did this. I think it’s fine, you don’t think so….enough on the subject.

by soadtrails on Nov 20, 2009 12:31 PM EST up reply actions

Dana says stupid shit

But in this instance he’s right, he gave Karo loads of chances and he still blew it. The UFC is a business not a charity and Karo is a grown man who for once has to take responsibility for his mental health and behaviour.

by Merlin9 on Nov 20, 2009 12:35 PM EST up reply actions

This whole conversation is making me depressed. If you have a problem you should admit to it and get it sorted, help is out there. Karo has been given a lot of money, time and care by Zuffa to get himself prepared mentally but he hasn’t done anything, other than let people down and make excuses. He deserved to be sacked and like it or not Dana uses Twitter to break news.

If you don’t try to get help to a problem then I have no sympathy for you because you either don’t care or are in denial. Look at Robert Enke, instead of dealing with depression he bailed on his family and risked the lives of others by jumping in front of a train. Karo hasn’t gone to that extreme but taking drugs and backing out of fights is costing his opponents money and his fans value for money. Because he clearly couldn’t give a toss about others I don’t give a toss about him, call me selfish but I believe that you deserve to be treated as you treat others and Karo treats others like shit.

True

People need to deal with their problems, but at what point do these people with emotional problems deserve to be publicly humiliated? I guees that’s where we differ in opinions, because if Dana announced at the press conference that the Karo fight was cancelled…then called Karo in to privately tell him he is not welcome back to the UFC……I’d agree with Dana 100%.

Is the way Dana humiliated the guy going to help anyone other than Dana’s ego?….or is humiliating Karo more likely to push him closer to jumping in front of a moving train?

I get your point and it wasn’t particularly professional but Dana wasn’t even at the press conference, it was the Justin Timberlake lookalike, so he couldn’t make any announcements and even if he did people would be asking Dana what was happening.

So...

I believe you are a fairly intelligent guy. And you actually believe in Heaven and Hell? It has been a long time since I’ve met anyone who still believes in that stuff. I believed it when I was like 5. There isn’t anything wrong with it, don’t take me wrong here. Doesn’t believing in that stuff make living on earth pointless? We are going to be talking about your beliefs for a while so get comfy, lol.

Not really into the conversation TBH

Contrary to what you may think of me Intro, I’m a really nice, caring guy. This isn’t a set-up. I’ve gotten far past the fact that we don’t disagree on most things.

Nobody should jump in front of a train, even if they want to kill themselves it’s bang out of order doing it in a way that endangers the lives of others. Not only does it mentally scare the driver and passengers but it could also derail the train and kill those on board.

by Bigger Zino on Nov 20, 2009 12:36 PM EST up reply actions

There’s a difference between making people think and laziness. That’s why I love Lost, it has a lot of original ideas and the mysteries make you think but the writers have actually bothered to answer some and have a set ending in mind, not telling the audience the fate of your main character is a cop out in my opinion.

by David W-S on Nov 20, 2009 12:38 PM EST up reply actions

Also love Lost.

I hear you. The storyboard JJabrams designed was a diamond shape vs rectangle.
Smart.

I didn’t see it as lazy – experimental maybe – like i said it could have been better as a series ending but hindsight is always 20 20.

I don’t think it worked the way the thought it would go off… but generally Western audiences enjoy one way information. Turn off the brain and get into receive mode.
Which is creating a generation of mindless sheep.

True mate, that’s why so many people watch mindless reality rubbish. Don’t get me wrong I like music shows like X-Factor (our updated version of Idol) but in general I find those types of shows a waste of time and I’d rather watch a serial drama that makes me think. Too many people give up too easily when they’re asked to think about what they’re watching.

Thats just your jealosy kicking in intro as your facts and information are clearly

ignorant. Your envy of Brock shows as you didn’t have much to say about Barnett getting caught yet you have no proof and when the mans down your so quick to blame? 100% no class and plain ignorant Fedor would be ashmed to have you as a fan and thats the truth.

Poor Hurley, he’s such an easy target it’s not even funny doing fat jokes about him.

The toolbox smashing Jack in the head never gets old. Add Star Wars (even the awful prequel) and it’s even funnier.

Fedor has class. If this were Fedor getting extremely sick, I wouldn’t be able to picture Dana or Brock wishing him a fast/safe recovery.

Fedor is MOCKING Brock.

yeah it sounds like he’s saying all the right things but come on…..Does he seriously want to wish someone, who would be ripping his head off had things turned out different, well and mean it?

please……
