The hits just keep on coming.
Karo Parisyan, who was slated to welcome fellow welterweight Dustin Hazelett back into the mix at UFC 106 this weekend (Nov. 21), is the latest UFC fighter to be pulled from the card.
And this time, it might be a permanent loss.
As UFC president Dana White reported on his Twitter page:
"Karo Parisyan has fucked over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again!!! He will not be fighting saturday or ever again in the UFC!!"
Then, a few minutes later, White added:
"Pulled out of the fight the day before weigh ins again with a laundry list of excuses!!! Let the press ask karo why! Let him explain."
This is just the latest blow to the embattled Parisyan (18-5, with 1 NC), who hasn’t fought since a January win over Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 94 was overturned after "The Heat" tested positive for multiple prescription-strength painkillers in post-fight drug testing, including hydrocodone, hydromorphone and oxymorphone.
This is not the first time Parisyan has pulled out of a fight at the last minute.
He was scheduled to fight Yoshiyuki Yoshida at UFC 88: "Breakthrough" in September 2008, but backed out of the fight right before weigh-ins, citing a recurring back and hamstring injury.
While a replacement opponent for Hazelett has yet to be named, if one can even be found on such short notice, White followed up his Twitter post with a third message:
"Dustin will be paid his full purse to show and win. Its not his fault."
