Grappling and MMA Shorts are too expensive
Rhetorical Question. Can anyone explain to me why companies such as Jaco, Tap Out and Sprawl get away with charging more than $75 for a pair of shorts? Are they sew together with gold thread? Do they give you super performace strength? No. They are just gaudy shorts with over-complicated velcro fastenings and uncomfortable and unnecessary padding. The mark-up? Over 300%. Better known in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world, Nogi Industries is an affordable alternative to Jaco. Nogi grappling shorts are sturdy but comfortable, classic but stylish and often times half the price of other mma shorts. I recently purchased the Nogi Kingpin Shorts for about $50 bucks. These are my favorite pair of shorts now. I appreciate the simple but fashionable design. Nogi sponsors amatuer fighters and continues to be an icon of class and affordability in a mma world that has for the most part become corporate and soul less.

well..
alot of these brands are just hyped up designer companies. but there are some with a reason for the mark-up. brands such as sprawl, hayabusa, and no-gi have these little special features. Whether it be flexible materials, anti-microbial weaves or material for grip. thats just my outlook anyway.. i actually use the bj penn ruca shorts and a pair of volcom surf shorts..what can i say? i live in hawaii.
