Lil Nog. Cane's pressure won't mean much if he constantly wants to take hits just to stalk forward. Nog does not have to KO him to win.

i like cane too. he is one of the few fighters he gets stronger as the fight goes on. very few fighters
can say this.
yes i am obsessive, obnoxious, in your face and all about covering the spread. those are my good qualities.

Enough of this crap!
There’s two more top-level fighters who refuse to fight each other! It’s getting rediculous. Especially with the Brazillians. Maybe it’s a culture thing. I swear Dana is gonna have to forbid any Brazillians near the same weight to even speak to each other, let alone train together! Either that or when he signs new fighters he makes them sign an agreement to fight anyone anytime regardless of friendship, and tells the established UFC figthers, “Look either sign this thing saying you’ll fight your buddies, or I won’t let your buddies into the UFC!”

Agree
I understand it’s tough to fight your friend but in the end you both have a goal and your paths cross if your really good friends you both understand this could happen and would hold no ill will against each other if your not you will become enemies again and your friendship wasn’t worth it.

right!
I can totally sympathize with not wanting to get in the way of your friends’ success after you’ve worked hard with him to help him acheive his dreams. But this is just like in business when bosses ask coworkers/friends to come up with project ideas or whatever to compete for a promotion. Can you imagine telling your boss, “No, I won’t work on that idea/project cause I don’t want to get in the way of my friend getting the account/promotion/whatever.” It’s a job. It’s not personal. Being a man and a professional means putting personal feelings asides and doing what you’ve got to do. No reason it has to affect your relationship. Look how many UFC fighters became great friends BECAUSE they fought each other.

I got Cane pulling off the upset

my gut feeling says...
Cane might pull this off – but it’s anyone’s fight. It’s a real close one to call. Given that this is lil’nogs debut and Cane has beaten good guys in the cage with UFC fans watching he might
have an edge. Neither will surprise me
Cane TKO – He will land one big shot standing and pounce w/ gnp for the finish.

Lyoto Shogun Rematch in Montreal this spring 2010.
Might have to go – see what else shows up on the card.

No way I'm missing that fight...I'll definitely be there.

Your kind of late Big Zino
Mania had an article on that a couple days ago.
I’ve learned not to expect a win out of these Pride Superstars in the UFC debut. Soko-jew, Kaz-Nak, Shogun, Kang, Wand, Hendo, Aurelio —all of these guys choked. I think Minotauro and Rampage are the only big guns to do well in their debut. Add to that, Cane has been wrecking through guys recently. This is a GOOD underdog bet for Banha, I already got him at +145 i think. I like Lil Nog just as much as the next guy, but its his debut. Look for fight No.2 where he’ll win. But not vs Cane.
Do NOT tell me Anderson was a Pride Superstar when he rolled over, cuz he wasn’t

I just heard... wasn't really making a big deal out of it

Yes Anderson was a Pride superstar!
The debate is Pride vs. UFC! Silva spent a few years in Pride, and had never fought in the UFC, so YES it makes him a Pride superstar!
WTF are you talking about? what was wrong with Hendo’s debut? He went 5 hard fought rounds with Rampage in a competitive and very entertaining fight! Just because someoene had to lose the fight dooesnt mean he was disapointing!
Soko was vastly over rated by EVERYONE, myself included.
Kaz was never anything special so I dont even know why you mentioned him!
Shogun fought with the worst injury in all of sports in his debut! why, because he is a FOCKING WARRIOR!
What was wrong with wanderlei’s debut? Sure he froze when he knocked chuck down, but he fought a helluva fight that turned into an instant classic.
Kang is synonymous with CHOKING..He choked way before he ever got to the UFC.
Cane is one of my favorite young fighters, but I dont DARE bet against Nog!
Pride fighters having underwheming debut has nothing to do with Pride being over rated! The UFC is a totally different fight game then Pride, and we has fans underestimated how difficult the transition was!
So stop slandering my beloved Pride!

and Strikeforce would be nonexistant
IMO for 10 years, PRIDE was the premier MMA organization, at least for fighters 185 lbs an up. The UFC’s HW and LHW divisions couldn’t hold a candle during those years to the hight and depth of the PRIDE stables. Look how many UFC standing champions vacated their belts to go fight in PRIDE! When the UFC was putting on its shows in Uncasville, Connecticut, PRIDE was filling 60,000 seat stadiums in Tokyo, the largest city in the world.
PRIDE gave us, Shogun, Rampage, Fedor, the Noguiera Bros, Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson, Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett, Arona, Fujita, Mousasi, Werdum, Gomi, Hansen, Aoki, the best years of Cro Cop, Wanderlei, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, and Carlos Newton, and of course my all-time favorite fighter Kazushi Sakuraba.
They also gave us the Middleweight (205) Grand Prix, the Heavyweight Grand Prix, and the OPEN WEIGHT GRAND PRIX! and a much fairer system of judging (even if the judges themselves were no more fair.)

Can via stalking
I have to admit i haven’t seen much of Rogerio as of late, but what i’ve seen from Cane has impressed the hell out of me.
He looks dangerous all the time, the way he stalks people and is always coming forward with hard, straight punches as well as kicks.
Thus, Cane via stalking straight punches

Lil Nog
is smarter, more well-rounded, and just as good a striker (if not as powerful). I don’t think Cane’s power will matter much against a Nog chin.

Good Fight
But I would have to go with Lil’ Nog.

Looking forward to this one
The LHW division needs some challengers to the top three with Rua, Machida, Evans holding the three top spots with Jackson becoming an actor T.Silva, Griffen, Tito, Cane & little NOg are good potential fighters to compete in the mix and we get to judge three of them Saturday!

I got cane too. This one is tough to call. I wouldn’t place money on it. What’s the odds any1 kno? Maybe if cane is a big dog.

I dont understand
Why has this fight not gotten any hype by the UFC? This has to be the quietest the UFC has been about a fight between two fighters this good in recent memory. IMO, both these guys would beat both the main event fighters
by domino effect on Nov 19, 2009 12:23 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Hopefully they get the attention from the North American fans
I don’t know if they would guarantee beat the two main event fighters they are with out a doubt around the same talent level and would be great fights any wich way it’s hard to say how good Tito is right now but a full form he would be a huge challenge for either of them and Forrest you never know he’s like Jardine looks great on fight then looks sub par the next?
by Puck Head on Nov 19, 2009 12:32 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
And Tito has more fan support
than either of those two but like I said this is a perfect time for one of them to step up and gain some drawing power with the help of Tito and Forrest bringing in more fans a win win situation if you think about it.
by Puck Head on Nov 19, 2009 12:35 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I understand the main event
I get the main event, two really popular fighters. I just don’t get why we have not heard more about this fight. The UFC home page did not even have a photo of Lil’ Nog on their website as of yesterday.
BTW…when was the last time a UFC main event featured fighters with a combined 0-4-1 record in their previous 5 fights? Like I said I understand why Tito/Forrest is the main event, I just think both these guys are better.
I have to go with Nog on this one, fought better competition overall. Very close fight though. This is the one I am looking forward to the most easily

more coverage
I agree with ya. But its probs mostly due to cancellation and recent addition of this fight. But I mean Dana has the coin n strength to put something together you’d think.
It is a really good and really unattended fight media wise. Oh well they’ll do the eye opening in what should be fight of the night I hope.
But definitely could’ve gone for more than a half hour countdown only on tito/griffin. Lots of good names on this surprisingly saved card.

Agree they could of put more hype behind this fight
With all the injuries and by having three events in a months time takes away a little of the hype and exposure this card is exciting thats for sure and little NOG or cane should be better known after 106.

Cane
I know Nog shold take this, but based on no real facts of any kind, I think Cane might pull it off.
Does anyones else feel like the threads are coming so fast that you can’t keep up?
Not complaining by the way, just sayin.

I agree with the threads coming too fast
Everyone and their brother can post threads now. Most of which aren’t newsworthy.
by jay. on Nov 19, 2009 2:02 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
yeah
not newsworthy or just repeats of the same topic. Do we need a new thread every few hours on Brocks illness or the latest comment by some obscure fighter on a minor promotions undercard? It would be a lot easier to follow conversations if I didn’t have to search back and forth through so many pages to keep up with multiple threads on the same topic.
