Can anyone at 145 pounds stop him?

Good question Jesse

Who can really stop this guy at this weight class? The only other guy that might be able to pull it off is Faber but I think Aldo would put him away in the same fashion as Brown. I think he’s going to stay champ for quite some time. There are some solid young up and comers but for now…I don’t see anyone giving Aldo problems.

This dude is a badass. I can also picture this guy being the champ for a while, but after seeing what happened to Torres, he’s just one flurry away from losing it. I think Faber’s style is a better matchup than Brown, which is to say that Faber will certainly make it into the later rounds. i’d love to see Faber regain the title, but the road just got a helluva lot bumpier…..

Very impressive

Aldo looks more impressive with every fight.

Faber has nothing on this guy and would get killed.

You kept making all the stops?

Well people kept ringing the bell !!!!!!

no chance..

Agreed, Faber would meet the same fate as brown, but I don’t think he will get the chance. I’m taking Assuncao for the upset over Faber.

Aldo will likely hold the 145 strap until the rumored UFC/WEC merger.

Yes, he's a badass

But everyone thought Miguel Torres was invincible too.

I'm kind of a big deal.

Not me

Always thought Torres would get his ass handed to him one day.

The thing with Miguel Torres is that he goes for these wild flurries and leaves himself totally open. Aldo came off much more disciplined and patient against Brown. Also, it says A LOT to just totally dominate a fighter the quality of Mike Brown.

ALDO

man this guy is SICK! his performance last night was phenomanal…so so fast! made brown look like a piece of crap…unreal TD defense and had browns back within seconds

Brown Looked small....

Brown who is normally huge for this weight class looked tiny compared to Aldo! I was convinced Brown was going to be much stronger then him and win with a combo. of his dicsipline and strength. Aldo ate some big punches and moved forward, forward, forward. Aldo is going to be king for a while. I think the one thing that could favor Faber, is the same thing that favors Aldo a lot of the time, being completely unconventional. Faber tries high risk random moves(from his atomic butt drop to the jumping while being single legged knee) that may catch Aldo where he normally wouldn’t get caught. That is the only thing I can think of.

Faber

the only problem I see Faber presenting Aldo with is the incredible pace Faber fights at……..then again an Aldo knee to the face could slow that pace significantly………..sorry I meant an Aldo Double Knee to the face.

dude.....i am

Faber's chances

The only chance Faber has is if Jose throws a punch and his fist gets swallowed up by Faber’s bum-chin long enough for Faber to counter with a huge KO punch.

Aldo the next Spider

After last night, while keeping in mind how highly people were speaking of Brown before this fight, I don’t think theres anyone outside of Faber who can even hold a candle to Aldo.

I do see a fight between Faber and Aldo being much more competitive than last nights; however, i still think Aldo would take care of Faber.

Right after the fight I said

DUDE Aldo is the next spider… This guy strikes like a professional Muay thai guy (just like spider) and he has phenominal BJJ just in case someone actually takes him down( just like spider)..

Aldo was very impressive

I thought Aldo may win, but in no way did I think he would dominate Brown like he did. Brown is a very tough guy and a 3 time champ, and Aldo beat him down like he was nothing special. With Aldo’s size, strength, and speed, along with his age, he may be able to rule the 145 class for a long time. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him move up to 155 in the UFC at some point.

Finally!

I was waiting for someone to mention that possibility! I could definitely see Aldo going to UFC and contending quickly for BJ’s belt. I’m not saying he could beat the prodigy, but I’d love to see him fight Kenflo, Edgar, Tyson, and Joe Daddy. I think there are some great match ups for Aldo at LW, and it shouldn’t take long for him to clean out the FW division at WEC.

Young well rounded fighters like Aldo and Gegard are the future of the sport, they’re still in their early 20s yet are already dominating the competition. Jose right now looks unbeatable, when he gets older and bulks up he’ll be a superb LW. Aldo-Faber/Torres would be great fights but I don’t see either of them doing anything to trouble Jose, he’s too quick, big and strong and has the technique to match his power and intensity, that guy is a monster BW and has the potential to be an all time great. Hopefully he gets the recognition that he deserves ASAP by the mainstream.
