Anderson Silva 'going like crazy' trying to come back -- but the elbow 'still hurts so much'
Props: Portal das Lutas
Quoteworthy:
"I went to the doctor who takes care of me in Brazil on Monday. I had my surgery in the United States but there’s a communication among both medical teams. To top it off, some movements didn’t reach the expected outcome. I’m going like crazy trying to come back, train hard and fight, but some moves still hurt so much. I just came from a jiu-jitsu training where I teach my students and could not even make some positions with them."
UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, who is targeting a UFC 109 fight against Vitor Belfort on February 6, 2010, delivers some less than encouraging news regarding his recovery from elbow surgery. Belfort expects to fight at UFC 109 on Feb. 6 in Las Vegas — though he's not entirely convinced it will be against Silva, who already withdrew from UFC 108 as a result of the procedure. Will "The Phenom" get a crack at "The Spider" -- or be forced to take another fight until the champ is 100-percent healthy?

Dear Spidey
‘With great power comes great responsibility.’ This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I’m Spider-man." …. Spidey’ would fight with one arm.
Medical statement?
Come on, guys, Anderson’s not a liar. Some people suggest he’s afraid or feared of Vitor. These same boys forgot Anderson whipped out middleweight division. I’m not his lawyer, he doesn’t deserve one. Still reminding some friends he’s the best MW ever. Hopefully we’ll watch Silva vs Belfort soon and all this trash talking will be over.
"No one wants to be defeated."
This sounds fishy!?
“I just came from a jiu-jitsu training where I teach my students and could not even make some positions with them.”
haha…next you know they’re training with chimps named bubbles
Hahahahahaahah
Well, answering the question, I guess Belfort will face another guy before taking on Silva.
"No one wants to be defeated."
Oh man..... I hope so, include Shogun as well
Maybe these guys are training to hard and not recovering enough, but with the announcment of Randy vs Coleman, PENN VS SANCHEZ, can’t get here fast enough!!!
Probably from steroids
I just thought I would throw that out there, since Brock haters like to use it so much. AS is a douche and I hope he never comes back.
Really?
You don’t want to see the most dynamic striker in MMA fight again? I understand if you don’t like him, but that’s crazy talk.

i was joking
It is just a small sample of what some of the haters have said about Brock. I don’t like AS at all, but I hope he comes back soon.
Ah, OK.

Many possible opponents for Vitor...
I don’t think Sonnen v Nate is set in stone yet. If the UFC wants a true # 1 contender fight they could have Nate/Vitor, and have Sonnen match up with Bisping. Or, if the Sonnen v Nate fight is set, they could match Vitor up with Bisping. Of course, if Dan comes back in the next month or so a re-match w/Vitor would be awesome. Hopefully it’s all a mute point and Anderson can fight, but there are plenty other options if not.

That fight should determine the #1 contender

Belfort Fight
If they are looking for a 185lb contender than Michael Bisping will fit the bill. More than enough time to put in a good training camp and fight in February. Would like to see another BRUTAL KO on Overrated Bisping…..
That would be a massacre, I’d love to see it. Vitor would destroy Bisping in seconds, it’d be as quick as Vitor-Wandi.
Andy-Vitor is a dream fight, Silva is a world class fighter who has destroyed everyone that he’s faced while Vitor has the handspeed, power and BJJ to give Andy some problems. I’m a big fan of both fighters and I hope that this fight happens at UFC 109, it has all of the makings of being a classic.
hendo!?!?
this would have been a good time to have hendo back. a rematch with vitor would be great.
