From the Tom Atencio thread...
There was a comment “SB homo” and someone told you to stay classy’’
if you guys were offended by Kev’s comments above – you havent read mania much before im guessing. 99% of the reason I go to Mania is to talk to guys I recognize from years ago and recently. Sure, it gets carried away and immature – but there are silver linings everyday.
If Kev or someone else wants / should call me a homo or worse ,well Im completely cool with it. See that’s the thing about Mania – everyone will still talk to you tomorrow.
Hopefully the new format Mania doesn’t get all sensitive on us.

Me and Kev bust balls quite often in good fun. Its all good if a regular wants to bust my balls. But if I newbie does, then EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE VIOLENTMIKE VIOLENTSTREAK!!!!!
When I first started posting on Mania a few years ago (late 06 / early 07) I used to LOVE ripping peoples posts apart. Now I;m more mellowed out and have less time to BS on here a work.

Well Kev, if the weight ins are today, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that the fights themselves will take place…
… two Sundays from now.

So,
I take it you haven’t caught the last dozen or so UFC Fight Nights or WEC events?
That explains a lot, actually.

love wec
fights can be way more exciting in this weight class..speed and agility is wicked to watch..and things like standing sub attempts..i am bummed i have not seen more wec events than i have..but i will have to look back at older fights online..excited for this one.

I agree
I here that in 3 more events the UFC will absorb the WEC though.
Manny Gamburian has no chance… what r the odds on that fight?!

where did it all go wrong for manny? he looked like he would be a real force in the ufc. that could be fight of the night or it could be rob emerson all over again for manny!

one of the best fights of the year
Aldo vs Brown is huge.
On a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) Interest level.
Tito-Forrest – 3.2
Aldo-Brown = 9.7
I would pay for this WEC card and wont pay for UFC 106 (K-Os / Rumble is great though)

I don’t see how there can be any Brown doubters at this point…unless of course your a 14 year old girl and have a crush on Faber
by McArthur... on Nov 17, 2009 3:01 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I don’t think Brown proved anybody wrong in his last fight with Faber. The kid was picking him apart with the stand-up in the first round, badly broke his hand, and still held his own throwing nothing but freaking elbows! Faber almost locked in a couple subs in the later rounds as well.
I can’t stand Urijah, but there is little doubt in my mind that he would have won that fight if he doesn’t break his hand.

my bad
Maybe I’m still a little upset that you missed the point that as much as I’m not a GSP fan, I still hold him in the highest regard as a fighter. You tried to say i was being sarcastic and shit yesterday when I was being completely sincere n saying that GSP would dominate the MW division like he has the ww! Or maybe because you said I’m jealous and don’t want anyone to have success, when I think it’s great that GSP is getting main stream sponsors (under armour for example), but I think it’s time he really cement himself as the best! Or maybe I just didn’t sleep enough this morning! Either way, my bad buddy!
by kevjack115 on Nov 17, 2009 3:58 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
No problem, buddy.
And for the record, I wasn’t the one who made the jealous comment. I don’t think you feel that way at all. And to be fair, I should have pointed out that you made some awesome points in your fanpost about the ridiculous hysteria everyone’s exhibited about the last couple razor-thin decisions. I totally agreed with that part of your post, but neglected it in favor of attacking you over the GSP thing.
Peace.

In all honesty, I wouldn’t mind seeing Faber/Brown 3.
Yes, Brown clearly destroyed him in their first fight, but Faber was overconfident and tried to get cute with the spinning elbow.
Faber definitely has superior stand-up to Brown, he just has to avoid the one big looper. On the ground Brown is better, stronger wrestler, but Faber has the sub advantage. Considering Brown couldn’t finish a severely crippled Faber for over 4 rounds, and was actually in trouble a few times, I would take Faber in the rematch, but I’m probably in the minority there.

Why Brown is Better then Faber
I think it comes down to focus.
Brown strikes me as someone who lives the fight game 24/7. For guys like Urijah – eventually he will star in his own “D” movie. He has the talent/toughness no doubt but for him it’s means to an end vs Brown – - it’s his damn life.

LESNER UPDATE
http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/17/ufc-prez-brock-lesnar-underwent-minor-surgery/
as much as I’m not a fan, it really is too bad his short career may be cut short. the mono alone was probably the beginning of the end. Anyone else find it interesting that a known steroid user (Giambi) had the same issue?
by kevjack115 on Nov 17, 2009 4:01 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I don’t think we actually know what the issue is yet. If Brock lets Dana know and gives him the OK to release it to the public then we can guess at how it happened.

weak?
tito/Forrest = a great rematch
Kos/Rumble= great fight
Baroni/Amir= am I the only one looking forward to the beat down Amir is going to suffer?
Also Kendall Grove and his elbows from standing position are always nice to watch! I know I don’t usually bitch anyways, but I think it’s a solid card!

i meant weak compared to what the card was w/crock & barney & the free cards all month. Its still a decent card dont get me wrong. i wanna see kos vs jonson more than the other fights, i hope jabroni ko’s amir but his gas tank is about as gud as bob sapp!!!

Karo/Hazelett as well.
And Baroni might already be gassed from taking off his robe. Baroni would be deadly if they implemented 20 second rounds.
