Shouldn’t he just fight Jake Shields at the next one than? Why is he beating up Scott Smith, what is that doing for anybody?
Shields already explained that Cung is afraid of him and only came back when he wouldn’t have to fight him.
well if shields says so...
I’m not afraid of Shields, why would Cung be afraid? He can’t hurt anybody. He’s just a guy who likes to cuddle. Cuddling never hurt anyone. I think he’s afraid that Shields will hug him and he’ll sport wood. That would get him instantly typecast as a gay Asian. There aren’t many movie roles for gay Asians.
chung gonna get worked
or at least i hope so, how much would it suck if he gave scott smith (one of sf’s bigger stars) his third loss in a row.
and when is the white mare gonna make his debute, i haven’t seen him fight, but i have seen his high light reels and can’t wait to see that guy fight for stikeforce.
Who's Robbie Lawler gonna fight?
Hoping for Robbie Lawler vs. Nick Diaz 2.
Cung Le vs Scott Smith
ALL of Cung’s wins have come by KO or TKO, he doesn’t know how to do anything else!! Smith has only ever been finished in that fashion twice in his career, once by the sandman and once by robbie lawler. No way in Hell Cung has as much power as those guys!! Smith himself is also a knock out artist and this is going to be a standing war, I’d say without question that Cung is the more technical, better striker of the two and if he is smart, he will dance around Smith all through the fight and slowly pick him apart.
However the fight will inevitably get up close and personal at some point, and I wonder if Smith could be the man to really test Cung’s chin for the first time. We’ll find out.
Scott Smith by TKO
or
Cung Le by decision

Cung Le by TKO
Kicks to the body will make Scott Smith crumble.
You can beat Smith in the head with a sledgehammer and he’ll still come forward. Slap him in the belly and he taps out.

Good point
But I’m still backing Smith for the upset. I still think that he could pressure Cung and catch him with a bomb.

less power???
Than Lawler or Sandman??? This is the guy who kicked Frank Shamrocks arm IN HALF. How many guys do you have to worry that if you block their kick your arm might shatter?!?
Yes less power
Yer he broke Sham’s arm with a kick and everybody still has a boner about it, Sham didn’t block the kick properly, left his arm out and it got broken. Please remember however that just previous to the kick that did the damage, Shamrock almost finished the fight with a barrage of punches against the cage, and Sham isn’t even that good with his hands, a better striker with more power in his hands would have put Cung away.

Scott Smith
isn’t a good striker with a bunch of tricks up his sleeve. Smith is going to walk in and get hit. He is a sacrificial lamb for Cung. Neither of them are good, but Scott Smith stinks.
Smith is a tough guy
he is resilient and has power in his hands, and has kncoked a hell of a lot more people out than Sham has. All I’m saying is that I don’t think Cung Le will knock him out, because he is resilient and if he can land a good shot on Cung’s chin then that could be it.
If Smith can get Cung up against the cage like Sham did even for a moment then he could finish it.

bear in mind...
it’s been a while since cung has seen any action…umm in the cage you perverts.
formerly JB, trying to figure out this whole new SB deal. oh, and another thing; i'm not impressed by your performance.
who’s that guy in the middle…wasn’t he in that movie, Pandorum? Oh, he’s a fighter? hmmm. that’s right. well, who knew?
Gatti. Dekkers. Pele. Aoki. Kang. Vanderlei. Basillio. Harry Greb.

I see Lawler in the poster
Who is he fighting though? Cung Le is still tough and I assume he will win but whether or not he finds time to fight Shields who knows. I dont care much for Strikeforce but this is a decent card. I just hate when their fighters keep showing up then dissappearing for months at a time. Thats why I like the UFC rules where their guys fight exclusively for them. Unlike freakin Overeem who fights every 3 years. Boo-urns Strikeforce.

no power? kicks have more power than punches enuf said, on the basis he connects lol, but saying he has no power is ignorant he broke shammys arm,and u can complain he didnt blok it properly or wateva it still broke, who else in mma does that to ppl
You can't read
I said he has “LESS POWER” not no power and I’m simply suggesting that it isn’t as one sided as people are making out. I don’t think Cung could knock out Smith, but I think Smith could knock out Cung. Smith is REALLY resilient and it will take alot to stop him, plus he has real and dangerous power in his hands.

He doesnt have to KO him.
The kicks to the body will add up and then scott will crumble. Scotts tough but not a very technical striker, i dont see him being able to catch lee!
