Mania Compadres’ say Coutures Undeserving? No-one gives me a compelling enough reason to think otherwise… I agree it’s somewhat arguable, but it makes alot more sense than it doesn’t and I’m not talking about the revenue$$$, I’m talking about ‘earned the right’, did Belfort earn the right?… it’s arguable, but when u look at a man’s body of work and who he beat or loss to makes the difference… Couture’s definitely earned the right if he beats Vera impressively. He only loses to the best of the best and over time has come back to beat the best of the best! If Courture gives a poor or losing performance against Vera then I’ll change my opinion. Almost all of fighter’s Couture has fought are guaranteed UFC Hall Of Famers or UFC Champions and he’s beaten enough of them. Couture shaped 2 different weight classes over the course of his career! Yeah’ time will catch up to him, he’s done at heavies, but nonetheless a recent UFC Heavy Champion,,, lets see what this workhorse soon to retire can do with one last run @ 205lbs!!!

Vera TKO, rogan is gonna ask him the same dumb question about being old and retiring, Randy is gonna give the same canned answer about interesting fights. Is anyone else getting sick of this?

NNR, they should stop giving the same dumb questions and let Couture’s fights prove otherwise.. If u don’t like the guy that’s 1 thing but saying he’s undeserving is another… I won’t debate u on hate value… not worth the character space.

Well i won’t pretend like my hate for couture isn’t well documented. Sure it has died down by a large margin now that my hero Big Nog beat him up. But i was actually referring to Rogan’s annoying and unoriginal questions.. Sadly enough the commentator talent level only a takes a bigger (Can you imagine goldy asking questions?).

The Couture-Vera winner should face the Lil Nog-Cane winner or the Rashad-Thiago winner so that there’s a legitimate top contender for the LHW title against Machida or Shogun as all 6 fighters all need a couple of big wins over top 10 competition before being worthy of a title fight. Couture/Vera-Lil Nog/Cane makes the most sense to me as a top contenders fight as both fights are taking place in the space of a week, so they have the same amount of time to prepare for the next fight, and it gives enough time for a top contender to be found once the Machida-Shogun rematch has happened. I’d like to see those fights on the same card.
The Rashad-Thiago winner should face the loser of Machida-Shogun, Rampage if he ever comes back, or the runner-up of my proposed 4 man tournament, as both fighters are top 10 but have been smashed by Machida, so they need another big win for another title fight to be marketable, though if Shogun wins (and after the first fight there’s a good chance of that happening) it would be a very marketable fight.
The only problem I see with this matchmaking is the friendship of the Brazilian fighters, as the Nog Bros are close friends of Andy and Machida while Cane and Thiago have made up, so that could stop 2 potential fights from happening.

Vera must win or all the top LHW’s gets screwed.

Haha, the opening footage was from the Couture vs. Fedor hype matchup that never happened. Sort of glad that didn’t happen now that I think of it. :D

I still think it could have been a good fight. Don’t forget that Randy is like 47 years old. He sure kicked the shit out of Father Time. haha. I don’t think we will still be seeing Fedor fight at that age, and I hope he isn’t.

The Couture that toppled Slyvia and smashed Gonzaga like a fishhead was the best Randy we’ve ever seen (and recently, that was the best Nog we’ve ever seen)… fighting Fedor is no longer an option and Couture has missed his last window at Heavies. A ‘W’ over Vera and a shot at 205lb belt is still an option.

There may be some Couture haters out there, but I for one would love to see him pound Vera out and get a shot at Machida. Couture vs. Machida is very interesting to me.

The Jackson Report***********************
Those of you who dont like “The Natural” to get another title shot act like he is a new guy on the scene…but can you think back to all of his fights…hummmmm lets look a sec, all of them and most importantly recently have been big name fighters…seriously…like it or not/like him or not the guy is a legend…he will fight anyone anywhere and he is getting older but seems to get better…he is a great athlete with no dening…Randy deserves this fight and deserves another title shot…(ITS IN ANOTHER WEIGHT CLASS) I could see if you were talking about him getting another shot at HW (Lesner)…but its light HW…this fight I give to Couture, just because two things, he is better, and he will have a game plan going in, he will stick to that plan and win…I like Vera a lot but this will be a Couture hand rising…
